Train coupler arrangement with axial expansion module
The present invention relates to a train coupler adapted for energy absorption by the use of a deformation unit. According to the invention an axial expansion module is provided and mounted together with the deformation unit and an anchor in the housing of the train coupler. By expanding the axial expansion module after being mounted into the housing, the deformation unit and the anchor will be biased between the front and rear lugs of the housing and held in place by a predetermined force in the axial direction only.

COUPLING ARRANGEMENT
Disclosed is a coupler for a coupling arrangement for a rail wagon. The coupler comprising a body and a knuckle. The body has a head portion at one end for engaging with a knuckle and a butt portion at an opposing end for engaging with a yoke. The knuckle extends between a protruding portion that engages a complementary knuckle of a coupler for an adjoining rail wagon, and a tail extending along a longitudinal axis for coupling the knuckle with the head portion of the coupler. The head portion comprises an interior wall defining an interior cavity for engaging the tail of the knuckle. The coupler is configured such that in use loading induced in the coupler is transferred between the knuckle and the head portion along a substantially evenly distributed load path.
Rail vehicle with a completely retractable coupling
A rail vehicle has a bogie which rolls on a track in a direction of travel, a vehicle structure which is supported on the bogie, a rigid carrying structure which is arranged on the end side of the rail vehicle, and an end-side coupling opening through which a coupling extends for coupling further rail vehicles. A coupling securing device secures the coupling to the rail vehicle. The coupling securing device has reversible securing elements which permit a reversible lifting movement counter to the direction of travel to such an extent that the coupling is retracted completely into the supporting structure. As a result of the retraction of the coupling into the cage-like carrying structure it no longer influences the crash behavior.
