A system is provided that include at least one positioning system that can detect a location or position of a vehicle or a portion of a vehicle group that includes the vehicle, at least one sensor positioned on or associated with the vehicle that can generate sensor data of a determined parameter or condition, and a controller in communication with the sensor and the positioning system. The controller can determine that a hazard event has occurred based at least partially on sensor data, and can communicate a hazard event notification based at least in part on the location data and the sensor data to a remote server.

A vehicle control system includes a controller that communicates between a first vehicle and a second vehicle and/or a monitoring device in a vehicle system. The controller determines a communication loss and, responsive to determining the communication loss, switches to communicating via a different communication path. The controller also determines an operational restriction on movement of the vehicle system based on the communication loss that is determined, obtains a transitional plan that designates operational settings of the vehicle system at one or more different locations along a route being traveled by the vehicle system, different distances along the route being traveled by the vehicle system, and/or different times. The controller automatically changes the movement of the vehicle system according to the operational settings designated by the transitional plan to reduce the movement of the vehicle system to or below the operational restriction.

Disclosed are an activation control method and apparatus for a railway train. The method includes that: at least one activation request sent by at least one motorman controller of a railway train is received; a number of at least one motorman controller sending the at least one activation request is determined; when there are a plurality of motorman controllers sending the at least one activation request, the railway train is controlled to perform an emergency braking; and when there is one motorman controller sending the at least one activation request, it is determined that a target motorman controller has a permission to control the railway train, wherein the target motorman controller is a unique motorman controller sending the at least one activation request. The present disclosure solves the problem in the related art of potential safety hazard of a double-vehicle activation processing method.

WIRELESS VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

A vehicle control system includes a controller configured to be operably deployed onboard a first propulsion-generating vehicle of a multi-vehicle system, and a wireless communication unit configured to be electrically coupled to the controller. The controller is configured to control the wireless communication unit to wirelessly communicate first vehicle control signals to a second propulsion-generating vehicle of the multi-vehicle system that is immediately adjacent and mechanically coupled to the first propulsion-generating vehicle, while the first propulsion-generating vehicle and the second propulsion-generating vehicle are in a non-cable-connected state. The controller also is configured to control the wireless communication unit to wirelessly communicate different, second vehicle control signals to a third propulsion-generating vehicle of the multi-vehicle system that is separated from the first and second propulsion-generating vehicles by at least one non-propulsion-generating vehicle in the multi-vehicle system.

The central processing unit is provided on a single board with: a processor designed to process data associated with an SIL 0 safety level; a coprocessor designed to process data associated with an SIL 1-SIL 2 safety level; an internal bus built on the board and configured to allow a two-way data communication between the processor and the coprocessor; an interface for the communication network of the train. The coprocessor is designed to be programmed in a reconfigurable manner with a software that allows the validation and encoding of data coming from the processor according to a safety protocol.
