Each lighting device includes at least one adjacent controller. A rail vehicle with the lighting arrangement is also provided.
Method and system for notifying an operator
A system that includes a notification light configured to be coupled with a first vehicle and to emit light to notify an approaching, second vehicle of the location of the first vehicle. A controller is provided that includes one or more processors configured to determine one or more of a direction of movement of the first vehicle, a speed of the movement of the first vehicle, or a distance between the first vehicle and the approaching, second vehicle. The controller is configured to notify the approaching, second vehicle of the one or more of the direction of the movement of the first vehicle, the speed of the movement of the first vehicle, or the distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle by directing the notification light to change a characteristic of the light emitted by the notification light.
RAIL VEHICLE SYSTEM, RAIL VEHICLE, AND VISUAL SENSING DEVICE
A rail vehicle system, a rail vehicle, and a visual sensing device are provided. The rail vehicle system includes a system control device, a rail, and a rail vehicle. The rail vehicle includes a processing device and the visual sensing device. In a process where the rail vehicle travels along the rail, the visual sensing device captures images in front of the rail vehicle, and the visual sensing device emits a laser beam toward a front side of the rail vehicle. The visual sensing device receives the reflected laser beam to generate a laser sensing data. The processing device determines whether or not to change at least one of a travel direction and a travel speed of the rail vehicle according to the images captured by the visual sensing device and the laser sensing data.

Controlling an Indicator at a Rear Car of a Train Based on a Control Signal from a Lead Car
A device for attachment to a train having a lead locomotive or control car and a rear car may include an indicator disposed with the rear car. A communication interface may receive at least one control signal from an interface onboard the lead locomotive or control car, and the control signal(s) may be generated based on at least one of an environmental condition, a hazardous condition, a type of cargo associated with the train, a time and location of the train, a positive train control (PTC), an electronic train management system (ETMS), an authorized trigger, or a manual input. A controller may be coupled to the indicator and the communication interface and may change a state of the indicator based on the control signal(s). Systems and methods for controlling an indicator are also disclosed.
