AUTOMATED TIE MARKING

A system and method for automating railroad maintenance by a tie gang using electronic tie marking (ETM) configured to optimize railroad asset maintenance. The system enables collision avoidance between members of the tie gang performing maintenance on railway assets (e.g., Rails, Ties, Ballasts, Turnouts, Crossings, etc.). The system can generate production numbers for the railway assets and evaluate an asset queue for the tie gang to perform maintenance. The system can utilize real-time updates from the tie gang to optimize work output. The system can provide a customizable user interface to identify, track, and process information related to maintenance of the railroad asset. The system also provides for a heads-up-display (HUD) to notify an operator of relevant information, such as maintenance information, travel indicators, and updated asset queue. The system can identify a next location and calculate an optimum path based on sensor input incorporating machine-specific and environmental characteristics.

Disclosed in the present invention are a positioning method capable of fusing a historical operation track and Beidou navigation, and an apparatus thereof. The method includes: receiving longitude and latitude information sent by a Beidou navigation system; determining validity of historical track information in combination with received longitude and latitude information and corresponding historical track information; when the historical track information is valid, searching an alternative section according to types of a terminal; traversing the alternative section, and converting longitude and latitude to section position information; according to the types of the terminal, determining whether converted section position information in the alternative section is valid; and when the converted section position information is valid, outputting the section position information. The present invention has the following advantages: according to the method, calculation is performed by fully utilizing the historical track information of the terminal, so that the calculation amount of a processor device is greatly reduced, and the compression rate can reach 98% or more; meanwhile, the CPU utilization rate is also increased; and a server with the same configuration can perform calculation tasks of larger stations, more stations and more terminals, so that the hardware input cost is saved.

A train simulator test set is disclosed that can be operably coupled to a railroad track to measure the resting impedance of that track circuit and simulate a train by varying the railroad track inductance over a set period of time. The test set can select the speed, direction, and number of trains to simulate. By applying a variable inductance on the railroad tracks, the test set can simulate a train moving at variable speeds toward and away from the island. The test set can apply inductances to the railroad tracks to simulate two or more trains moving in each direction of the tracks at the same time, along with multiple looks and routes. The train simulator test set can include simulation software to vary the parameters of the train simulation and couple a variable inductance on the railroad tracks.
