Method and Device for Detecting a Derailed State of a Rail Vehicle
A method and device for detecting a derailment state of a rail vehicle, wherein at least one kinematic variable is respectively measured via first and second sensors with respect to first and second wheelset end portions and corresponding measurement signals are formed, processed and evaluated, where values of first and second falling velocities y with respect to the first and second wheelset end portions are respectively calculated from the measurement signals via a computing unit and a derailment state of the rail vehicle is detected via a first comparison operation of the first falling velocity and the second falling velocity with a first falling velocity limit value and a second falling velocity limit value, which has a greater magnitude than the first falling velocity limit value such that a high level of certainty in the detection of derailment states is achieved.

NON-INVASIVE MONITORING OF ATOMIC REACTIONS TO DETECT STRUCTURAL FAILURE
The method and device to ensure the safety of people's life and health is based on the measurements of spontaneous electromagnetic radiation caused by the deformation from a structure or device, the nucleation and growth of plant cells and living organisms; calculating energy stored in a portion of the structure or cells based on the measured intensity; performing a comparison of the energy stored with a critical value for the structure and pathological changes in the cells; and indicate potential failure of the structure or the level of pathological changes based on the performed comparison.

Railway turnout control method and system
A railway turnout control method comprises: constructing a data space corresponding to a railway turnout area (101); adding a virtual railway turnout, in the data space, to an area in which a target turnback stopping point is located (102); adding the virtual railway turnout to a railway turnout list corresponding to a route along which a train drives into the area (103); and not releasing claim of the virtual railway turnout when the train stops at the turnback stopping point (104); Also provided is a railway turnout control system. The method and system can solve problems of deadlock of a turnback area and insufficient safety protection of crossed routes.

Adaptive vehicle control system
A vehicle system having processors configured to determine permissible regions of a trip where the vehicle system is permitted for automatic control. The permissible regions of the trip are determined based on one or more of parameters of a route, a trend of operating parameters of the vehicle system, or a trip plan that designates one or more operational settings of the vehicle system at different locations, different times, or different distances along a route. The processors also are configured to control transition of the vehicle system between manual control and the automatic control in the permissible regions by alerting an operator of the vehicle system, automatically switching between the manual control and the automatic control, or modifying conditions on which the transition occur.
