Vehicle host interface module (vHIM) based braking solutions
Systems and methods are provided for vehicle host interface module (vHIM) based braking solutions and use thereof in trains.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A TRAIN TRAVELLING ALONG A RAILWAY LINE
A system and method are for controlling a train traveling along track blocks. A first signal transmitter is installed at a first track block and transmits, using a predefined range of transmission frequencies, first signals for detecting when the train enters the first track block. A second signal transmitter is installed at an adjacent second track block and transmits, using a predefined range of transmission frequencies different from the predefined range of transmission frequencies used by the first signal transmitter, second signals for detecting when the train enters the second track block. One or more signal receivers on board of the train are configured to receive the transmitted first and second signals, and an onboard controller is configured, based on signals supplied by the one or more receivers indicative of the first and second signals received, to identify when the train enters the first or second track blocks.
INTERSECTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An intersection management system and method for reducing or avoiding potential collisions between vehicles are provided. The system may use a wireless signal, with or without a circuit, to traverse an intersection. The system may use, at least in part, a positive vehicle control system.
POSITIVE TRAIN CONTROL SIMULATION SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREFOR
A system and method for simulating positive train control (PTC) systems in a local and controlled environment using software and hardware. The system can simulate various functionalities of the PTC system in the environment using software and hardware components. The system can instruct the software of a train management computer (TMC) to control electromechanical valves to simulate air compression on brake pipes in response to the PTC system executing a penalty on the locomotive. The system can display statuses of various systems on the locomotive to a user using a cab display unit (CDU). The system can control the software and hardware components to simulate warnings and actions from the PTC system allowing locomotive engineers and conductors to experience the PTC system for optimum training.

TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM AND TRAIN CONTROL METHOD
A train control system includes: a plurality of trains; a train operation control device that identifies a relief-object train that is a train having failure and determines a relief train that is a train that moves on to the relief-object train to relieve the relief-object train and a protective section in which the relief train can travel, on the basis of on-track information acquired from the trains; and a ground control device that sets, in the trains, the protective section determined by the train operation control device. The trains each transmit the on-track information including location information and failure information with use of which the train operation control device can determine a state of a failure when the failure occurs, to the train operation control device via the ground control device.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING VIBRATIONS TRANSMITTED IN THE AREA OF A TRACK
A method detects vibrations transmitted in the area of a track, with the track being vibrated during a work process by a work unit of a track maintenance machine travelling along the track. The vibrations being transmitted via the track are measured by a sensor distanced from the work unit and with measuring data of the sensor being evaluated in an evaluation device. In that, a position of the sensor with respect to the work unit is given to the evaluation device, with a correlation between a vibration effect of the work unit detected with the sensor and a distance between the work unit and the sensor being calculated in the evaluation device. The method has the advantage that the vibration effect of the work unit can be detected in real time at the location of the sensor.

RAILWAY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH DATA REPOSITORY
Systems and methods related to railway management systems with data repositories are described herein. A graphical user interface including a map interface of a railway infrastructure is provided. A request for information is obtained via a graphical element displayed on the map interface, the graphical element corresponding to a component of the railway infrastructure. Railway infrastructure information is obtained from a data repository based on the request. The railway infrastructure information is displayed on the graphical user interface.
