A system for testing trainline communications includes a command test box, a remote test box, and a controller. The command test box is coupled to a first electric coupler at a first end of a consist including one or more cars of a railroad train. The command test box applies a test signal to the first electric coupler and wirelessly transmits an indication of the test signal. The remote test box is coupled to a second electric coupler at a second end of the consist, and determines whether the test signal is present at the second electric coupler and wirelessly transmits an indication of the test signal. The controller communicates wirelessly with the test boxes to determine whether the test signal has successfully traversed the consist.

Multichannel ground fault tester
10698038 · 2020-06-30 · ·

A multichannel ground fault tester that can be connected to multiple individual circuits (or nodes isolated from each other within a circuit) at the same time. The circuits or nodes can be tested sequentially, or in any order, without manually disconnecting, moving and reconnecting the tester as is currently required when using a single-channel ground fault tester to test multiple circuits (or nodes isolated from each other within a circuit).

VEHICLE EMULATOR SYSTEM

A track verification and signal testing system includes a central remote location comprising a computer system, the computer system hosting multiple workstations and monitors allowing test engineers to control inputs, and to monitor outputs, signals, and information associated with the verification and testing of a railroad track installation The computer system is in communication via a communications link with one or more automated field simulators, or control point field emulators (CPFE), placed in one or more signal bungalows housing the signal system circuitry associated with one or more sections of track.

METHOD FOR THE DETECTION OF CROSSTALK PHENOMENA
20200114943 · 2020-04-16 ·

A method for the detection of a crosstalk phenomenon in the communication between a wayside transmission unit, especially a balise, and an on-board unit including an antenna unit, of a railway vehicle, includes the steps of receiving an excitation signal of the wayside transmission unit by using the antenna unit in a moving state of the railway vehicle and measuring an electric and/or a magnetic field in a near field of the wayside transmission unit by using the antenna unit upon reception of the excitation signal. A near field to far field transformation on the field measured in the measuring step is performed to detect a presence of a crosstalk phenomenon. A corresponding an on-board unit is also provided.
