Calibrating 3D motion capture system for skeletal alignment using x-ray data
11694360 · 2023-07-04 · ·

A processing device receives, from a three-dimensional (3D) motion capture system, initial data representing an initial orientation of a subject user's body in an initial position. The processing device further receives x-ray data representing at least the portion of the subject user's body in the initial position. The processing device determines an actual orientation of at least one bone or joint from the portion of the subject user's body in the initial position as represented in the x-ray data and calibrates the initial orientation of the 3D motion capture system to reflect the actual orientation of the at least one bone or joint in the initial position.

Cancer Treatment Methods Using Thermotherapy And/Or Enhanced Immunotherapy
20230000981 · 2023-01-05 ·

Cancer treatment methods using thermotherapy and/or enhanced immunotherapy are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the method comprising the steps of: (i) applying controlled thermal energy at 40-43° C. for a first predetermined time period to damage and weaken tumor cells of a tumor in a patient; (ii) administering pulsed high intensity focused ultrasound (pHIFU) in a first ultrasound mode to the tumor cells in the patient so as to damage the tumor cells without increasing the thermal energy; and (iii) administering low intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) in a second ultrasound mode to further damage the tumor cells at a temperature of 39-43° C. for a second predetermined time period while performing observation of the tumor cells by ultrasonic thermometry.

This invention addresses the need of repairing aortic aneurysms. The method embodies the manufacturing of patient and anatomy specific endovascular implant. Additional advantages of the invention relate to smaller delivery size, improving the risk of graft migration and endoleak formation.

ULTRASOUND IMAGING DEVICE AND METHOD OF GENERATING COLOR DOPPLER IMAGE

A clutter signal mixed in a blood flow signal is reduced in a color Doppler, and blood flow visibility is improved. A combination of parameters that maximize a difference between a blood flow and a clutter (a signal other than the blood flow) is determined by analyzing a reception signal, a clutter estimated value (a value indicating a degree of being estimated as a clutter) is set based on the combination, and a reduction coefficient map (hereinafter, simply referred to as a reduction map) that reduces a clutter signal is generated based on the estimated value. The clutter signal is reduced by multiplying the reception signal (an IQ signal after quadrature detection) by the reduction map.

Stationary source computed tomography and CT-MRI systems

The present invention provides stationary CT architecture for imaging at a faster temporal resolution and lower radiation dose. In embodiments, the architecture features stationary distributed x-ray sources and rotating x-ray detectors. Provided is a stationary source computed tomography (CT) architecture comprising: a detector disposed on a rotatable gantry; an x-ray source disposed on a fixed ring; wherein the detector is disposed on the gantry in a manner such that the detector is capable of rotating around a subject and of receiving a signal from the x-ray source. Embodiments of the invention include a CT-MRI scanner comprising the stationary CT architecture.

Three-dimensional segmentation from two-dimensional intracardiac echocardiography imaging

For three-dimensional segmentation from two-dimensional intracardiac echocardiography imaging, the three-dimension segmentation is output by a machine-learnt multi-task generator. The machine-learnt multi-task generator is trained from 3D information, such as a sparse ICE volume assembled from the 2D ICE images. The machine-learnt multi-task generator is trained to output both the 3D segmentation and a complete volume. The 3D segmentation may be used to project to 2D as an input with an ICE image to another network trained to output a 2D segmentation for the ICE image. Display of the 3D segmentation and/or 2D segmentation may guide ablation of tissue in the patient.
