User interface for grade crossing gate controller

A crossing gate mechanism includes a gate mechanism enclosure, electrical components inside the gate mechanism enclosure, and a controller inside the gate mechanism enclosure. The controller is connected to and configured to monitor and/or control the electrical components. The controller includes an operator panel for receiving input from a user. In addition, the controller has a user interface displayed by the operator panel. The controller is operable to present information associated with the electrical components on the user interface.

METHOD FOR WITHDRAWAL OF A BEARING FROM A GATE MECHANISM
20230279903 · 2023-09-07 · ·

There are disclosed methods for withdrawal of a bearing from a gate mechanism including a mechanism housing, a carrier assembly, and discrete fasteners. The carrier assembly includes a carrier housing and a carrier bearing. The carrier bearing is supported for rotation within the carrier housing. The carrier housing has a carrier support mating with a receiving bore of the mechanism housing. The carrier housing has multiple flange fasteners aligning with housing fasteners and housing surfaces of the mechanism housing when the carrier housing mates with the receiving bore. Multiple discrete fasteners are removed from a first group of the flange fasteners aligned with the housing fasteners. The carrier assembly is displaced from the mechanism housing in response to inserting the plurality of discrete fasteners to a second group of the plurality of flange fasteners aligned with the plurality of housing surfaces.

Quick-replacement gear for grade crossing gate mechanism

A crossing gate mechanism includes a gate mechanism enclosure, a gate arm shaft, and a quick-replacement moon gear assembly. The gate mechanism enclosure defines an interior space. The gate arm shaft extends into the gate mechanism enclosure and is rotatable relative thereto. The quick-replacement moon gear assembly is coupled to the gate arm shaft for rotation therewith and is positioned within the interior space. The quick-replacement moon gear assembly includes a gear hub fixed to the gate arm shaft for rotational movement therewith, and a quick-replacement moon gear releasably coupled to the gear hub. The quick-replacement moon gear is removeable from the interior space while the gear hub remains fixed to the gate arm shaft.

Systems and methods for determining passage status of a train at a railroad crossing

This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for determining a passage status of a train through a railroad crossing. In an example method, a railroad crossing status detector system provided in a vehicle may determine that a train is approaching the railroad crossing. The determination is made by evaluating a first detection signal received from a first train detection apparatus located on one side of the railroad crossing. The railroad crossing status detector system may then evaluate a second detection signal received from a second train detection apparatus located on the other side of the railroad crossing and determine that the train has traveled past the railroad crossing. The system may also evaluate one or both detection signals to determine whether the train is currently located at the railroad crossing or is backing up after traveling at least partway across the railroad crossing.

Remote control of traffic gates

Systems and methods are disclosed including a system that can include a traffic gate, an electronic circuit and a portable controller. The traffic gate can have an arm. The electronic circuit can have a controller, a first communication module, and one or more light sources configured to mount to the arm or other portions of the traffic gate. The controller can be configured to control the electronic circuit to selectively operate the one or light sources as desired. The portable controller can have a second communication module configured to communicate with the first communication module to actuate the controller to control of the electronic circuit.
