A hand truck with main wheels and a toe plate also includes a handle assembly that is mounted to the frame of the hand truck so that the handle assembly is able to rotate and slide relative to the truck frame. The hand truck may be arranged in a first upright dolly position in which the handle assembly is generally aligned with the truck frame and a second cart position in which the truck frame is generally horizontal and the handle assembly is extended and rotated so that it is upright and normal relative to the truck frame. A latch assembly mounted to the truck frame is able to releasably receive and secure the handle assembly in the first upright dolly position.

Hand truck

A hand truck includes a frame, a toe plate connected to the frame, a pair of wheels rotatably secured to the frame, and a handle connected to the frame. A fourth-wheel attachment is pivotally connected to the frame at a first point and removable connected to the frame at a second point. A lever positioned adjacent to the handle causes the removable connection between the fourth-wheel attachment and the frame to be released, allowing the fourth-wheel assembly to pivot away from the frame. An embodiment of a hand truck includes a break back bar. The break back bar is pivotable with respect to the frame. The break back bar may be deployed and stood on by a user to prevent movement of the hand truck while pivoting a load.

A wheeled hand-cart configured to carry and secure ski equipment and accessories is described. The hand-cart is of the type where a user adjusts an attitude of the hand-cart for rolling travel so as to balance the load about a wheel axis of the hand-cart. The hand-cart includes a load platform extensive enough to carry ski boots as well as a large securable container. Ski mounts joined to the hand-cart carry skis outboard of the load platform at an attitude that provides for ample clearance between the tips of the skis and the user's upper body. The ski-carrying cart may include a voluminous securable container to serve as a mobile ski locker, and locking devices may be provided to secure the skis and the cart. The hand-cart is further configured to partially collapse to a narrow-stance mode adapted for rolling travel in narrow spaces.

A hand truck includes a quick release/attach mechanism operating according to a method for quickly and easily exchanging various tools with the hand truck, the quick release/latch mechanism including biased locking pins movably located within tubular frame members integral to the hand truck and proximal holes in the tubular frame members for receiving a projection member of the tool and spaced a predetermined distance from a hangar portion of the tool and wherein the hangar portion may be hung on a crossbar of the tubular frame and then the projection members of the tool may be coupled with and retained by the locking pins of the tubular frame. The arrangement requires no hand tools such as wrenches or screwdrivers, and no external fasteners such as pins or bolts. The geometry of the cross bars on the hand truck allow tool attachments to be captured or releases simply by tilting the hand truck forward or backward. The tool attachments are then locked to the truck by locking rods and pins that operate inside the two main tubes of the hand truck.
