A step board is attached to a main body in a rotatable manner. The step board is biased toward the upper side due to a tensile force of a spring while taking a position at which the step board is attached to the main body as an axis, and an attachment angle thereof is so fixed by a stopper as to fall within a predetermined angle. On the lower side of the step board, a cylinder unit covering a side surface of the bar-like main body is provided. The cylinder unit is connected to a brake shoe. Accordingly, when the step board is stepped on, the cylinder unit is moved downward so that the brake shoe makes contact with part of a rear wheel, thereby limiting a rotational velocity of the rear wheel.

Control method for stair climber

A control method for a stair climber having a support frame; a motorized mechanical group; a stabilizing element; a sensor detecting steps during the descent process; and a processing and control logic unit connected to the sensor, the stabilizing element, and the mechanical group. The control method includes a descent process, in which the logic unit commands the mechanical group to advance the climber until the sensor detects a first step; the logic unit stops the mechanical group interrupting the advancement of the climber; the logic unit commands the extraction of the stabilizing element to arrange it in an operating configuration; the logic unit commands the mechanical group so that the climber advances until the sensor detects a second step; the logic unit commands the retraction of the stabilizing element to arrange it in a rest configuration; and the logic unit commands the group so that the climber advances again.

Carrying arrangement for carrying a medical apparatus

Carrying arrangement for carrying apparatuses, in particular medical apparatuses, having a base carrier on which at least three roller elements are arranged in order to move the carrying arrangement with respect to a floor surface. The roller elements are each rotatable about first axes of rotation (D). At least one of these roller elements is pivotable about a pivot axis (S) with respect to the base carrier. The axes of rotation (D) and the pivot axis (S) extend in different directions. At least one supporting element is arranged at least indirectly on the base carrier. The supporting element does not contact the floor in a first position of the carrying arrangement with respect to the floor surface and the supporting element contacts the floor in a second position of the carrying arrangement with respect to the floor, the second position being pivoted with respect to the first position.

Cart apparatuses and related methods are described that are configured to traverse uneven terrain while carrying heavy loads such as game animals or equipment. In one example, the cart has a frame that has a handle structure and at least one cargo support portion. At least one wheel support assembly is configured to pivot around an axle connected to the frame. A first wheel and a second wheel may also be included, with the first and second wheels each being pivotable relative to the at least one wheel support assembly. The first wheel may have a first axis of rotation offset from and parallel to the axle, and the second wheel may have a second axis of rotation offset from and parallel to the axle. These carts and methods may make travel through uneven terrain and wilderness areas faster and more conveniently for outdoorsmen.

System and method for electrically assisting in removal of deceased humans up and down stairs and into a vehicle

A mortuary human removal system with battery powered stairclimbing capability is disclosed having a mortuary body glide board, riveted to a top side of a commercially available battery powered stairclimbing hand truck. A multi-stage two wheeled prop stand is coupled to an opposing side of the hand truck longitudinal rails, which is designed to create two automatically latching positions of separation between the wheels and the hand truck rail. The shorter separation is used as an aid to safely lifting a human body on the mortuary human removal system to a first height above the ground. The second position is at a predetermined height for use as a fulcrum to tipping the foot end up and into an ambulance, hearse or other vehicle and be automatically folded up as the mortuary human removal system is pushed all the way into the vehicle.

A stair traversing device comprising a payload body for transporting a payload, a step frame, and a mechanism between the step frame and the payload body to move the step frame relative to the payload body along a cyclical path. The mechanism drives a movement of one of the payload body and the step frame along a first segment of the cyclical path from a retracted configuration to an extended configuration, and drives a movement of the other one of the payload body and the step frame along a second segment of the cyclical path back into the retracted configuration. The payload body and the step frame are configured to remain fixedly in position on a stair when the other one of the payload body and the step frame is moved. The mechanism is configured to maintain the relative orientation between the payload body and the stair.
