The medical examination system further includes a central data store for storing a plurality of scan protocols. The central data store includes an interface for receiving the examination parameters from the imaging device, a selection entity for selecting a scan protocol from the plurality of stored scan protocols based on the received examination parameters, and an interface for sending the selected scan protocol to the imaging device.

Ultrasound localization system with advanced biopsy site markers

Disclosed biopsy markers are adapted to serve as localization markers during a surgical procedure. Adaptation includes incorporation of materials detectable under ultrasound during surgery, as well as features for co-registration with image guidance or other real-time imaging technologies during surgery. Such biopsy markers, when used as localization markers, improve patient comfort and reduce challenges in surgical coordination and surgery time. Additional disclosed biopsy markers are adapted to serve as monitoring and/or detection apparatuses. Localization of an implanted marker may be done with ultrasound technology. Ultrasound image data is analyzed to identify the implanted marker. A distance to the marker or a lesion may be determined and displayed. The determined distance may be a distance between the ultrasound probe and the marker or lesion, a distance between the marker or lesion and an incision instrument, and/or a distance between the ultrasound probe and the incision instrument.

Pulmonary edema monitoring apparatus

Provided is a pulmonary edema monitoring apparatus, which is always attached to the body and is capable of continuously monitoring whether a pulmonary edema occurs, for a patient with advanced disease or a shock patient. This pulmonary edema monitoring apparatus includes: an ultrasound frequency module which is attached to the chest of a patient, generates an ultrasound, and receives a reflection wave reflected from the inside of a human body; and a control module which measures the intensity (this is referred to as “ultrasound radio frequency data”) of the reflection wave, determines whether a pulmonary edema occurs on the basis of an increasing rate of the ultrasound radio frequency data according to a degree of multiple reflection, and provides an alarm.

ULTRASOUND IMAGE RECOGNITION SYSTEMS AND METHODS UTILIZING AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NETWORK
20170262982 · 2017-09-14 ·

Ultrasound image recognition systems and methods, and artificial intelligence training networks for such systems and methods, are provided. An ultrasound data information system includes an ultrasound image recognition training network that is configured to receive ultrasound training images and to develop ultrasound image knowledge based on the received ultrasound training images. An ultrasound imaging device acquires ultrasound images of a patient, and the device includes an ultrasound image recognition module. The ultrasound image recognition module is configured to receive the ultrasound image knowledge, receive the acquired ultrasound images from the ultrasound imaging device, and determine, based on the ultrasound image knowledge, whether the received ultrasound images represent a clinically desirable view of an organ or whether the clinically desirable views indicate normal function or a particular pathology. The received ultrasound images are transmitted to the ultrasound image recognition training network for further training and development of updated ultrasound image knowledge.

The present invention provides an ultrasound system, which comprises: a signal acquiring unit to transmit an ultrasound signal to an object and acquire an echo signal reflected from the object; a signal processing unit to control TGC (Time Gain Compensation) and LGC (Lateral Gain Compensation) of the echo signal; a TGC/LGC setup unit adapted to set TGC and LGC values based on TGC and LGC curves inputted by a user; and an image producing unit adapted to produce an ultrasound image of the object based on the echo signal. The signal processing unit is further adapted to control the TGC and the LGC of the echo signal based on the TGC and LGC values set by the TGC/LGC setup unit.

Localizing Medical Instruments Using Doppler Ultrasound Twinkling Artifact Signatures

Markers, medical instruments, and/or medical devices have a composition and/or other features or characteristics such that they will generate twinkling artifacts when imaged with ultrasound. In this way, the markers, medical instruments, and/or medical devices can be detected and localized using ultrasound. Ultrasound technical specifications that are optimized to generate twinkling artifact signatures are selected and used to facilitate localization of such markers, instruments, and/or devices.
