In one embodiment, an intraluminal ultrasound imaging system includes a patient interface module (PIM) in communication with an intraluminal imaging device comprising an ultrasound imaging component, the PIM comprising a processing component configured to detect information associated with the intraluminal imaging device; and determine a waveform characteristic for ultrasound wave emissions at the ultrasound imaging component based on the detected information; and a trigger signal generation component in communication with the processing component and configured to generate a trigger signal based on the determined waveform characteristic to control the ultrasound wave emissions at the ultrasound imaging component.

An ultrasound imaging system includes a processor programmed to identify the type of tissue being imaged and to confirm that one or more system settings and/or the energy of ultrasound imaging signals delivered is set appropriately for such tissue. In one embodiment, an image obtained with the ultrasound imaging system is analyzed to determine if the tissue is ophthalmic (eye) tissue. If so, the system parameter settings and/or the transmit power of the signals produced by the ultrasound system are adjusted or maintained at a level that is appropriate for imaging such tissue.

Ultrasonic processing apparatus comprising means for imaging cavitation bubbles

An ultrasonic processing apparatus is provided. The ultrasonic processing apparatus comprises an ultrasonic therapy transducer (ATA) adapted to generate focused ultrasonic waves; an ultrasonic imaging transducer (UID) connected to the ultrasonic therapy transducer; and an electronic system configured to control the ultrasonic therapy transducer so as to emit a pulse train of ultrasonic waves generating a cloud of cavitation bubbles (BC); control the ultrasonic imaging transducer so as to acquire at least one image of the region to be processed; acquire a plurality of echo signals of ultrasonic wave pulses emitted by the ultrasonic therapy transducer captured by the ultrasonic imaging transducer; process the plurality of echo signals so as to reconstruct an image of the cloud of cavitation bubbles; and display said image of the cloud of cavitation bubbles superposed on said image of the region to be processed. The processing includes spatio-temporal filtering.

ULTRASOUND IMAGING GUIDANCE AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

A guidance system is configured to detect a current pose of an ultrasound transducer and to determine a movement to achieve a desired pose associated with a desired view or imaging plane of a patients anatomy. In one embodiment, the guidance system includes a processor circuit in communication with the ultrasound transducer. The processor circuit is configured to: receive an input associated with a desired pose of the ultrasound transducer; receive ultrasound imaging data representative of a field of view of the ultrasound transducer in a current pose; determine a movement to align the current pose of the ultrasound transducer with the desired pose; and generate a graphical representation of the movement. The graphical representation shows both the current pose of the ultrasound transducer and the desired pose of the ultrasound transducer. The graphical representation is output to a display in communication with the processor circuit.

Certain control circuitry may be configured to control a decimator to decimate ultrasound data from different elevational channels with different phases.
