Automated load handling for industrial vehicle
10233064 · 2019-03-19 · ·

A load handling system for a vehicle includes a set of forks that concurrently supports two or more pallets including a first pallet and a second pallet linearly positioned along a length of the forks, and a lifting system to raise and lower the forks. A traction system moves the vehicle in a direction of travel associated with withdrawing the forks from the pallets. Additionally, an actuation device generates an activation signal in response to being actuated by an operator, and a vehicle controller places the vehicle in an automated mode of operation in response to receiving the activation signal. In the automated mode of operation, a front end of the forks moves from the second pallet to the first pallet, and the first pallet is raised while the second pallet remains on a transport surface. The first pallet is then spaced apart from the second pallet by a predetermined distance and then lowered to the transport surface.

A shopping cart and method of autonomous shopping are provided including a cart chassis, a scale configured to rest on base of the chassis, a basket resting on the scale, wherein weights of products placed in the basket are indicated by the output signal of the scale, a weight guard rail positioned above the product basket and attached to the cart chassis, wherein a downward force on the weight guard rail does not impose a downward force on the basket and is not indicated by the output signal provided by the scale, a user identification unit; and a payment module.

Self-Checkout Anti-Theft Vehicle Systems and Methods

Disclosed herein relates to a self-checkout anti-theft vehicle system, comprising: a self-checkout vehicle having a plurality of sensors and components implemented thereon, the self-checkout vehicle being used by shoppers for storing selected merchandises in a retail environment; and a centralized computing device. The centralized computing device is configured to: obtain information related to each merchandise selected and placed into the self-checkout vehicle by a shopper by exchanging data with the plurality of sensors and components via a first communication network, identify each merchandise via a second, different communication network based at least upon the information obtained from the plurality of sensors and components, and process payment information of each merchandise.

Automated purchasing systems and methods

Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and products comprises a server for enabling automatic shopping. The server may associate a shopping cart with a customer's electronic user device. The server may monitor the locations of the electronic user device. Based on the customer's location, the server may identify the shelves and items the customer has visited. When an item is lifted from the shelf, at least one weight sensor on the shelf may detect the weight change. The server may receive a notification comprising an amount of weight change from the weight sensor on the shelf. When the customer places the item into his/her shopping cart, the weight sensor on the shopping cart may detect the weight addition. If the weight change and weight addition match, the analytic server may determine that the item picked up from the shelf is placed within the customer's shopping cart.

Omnidirectional item identifying mobile apparatus

This disclosure describes, in part, a mobile apparatus for identifying items within a facility using an omnidirectional imaging system. For instance, the mobile apparatus may include a main frame, a chassis attached to the main frame, a basket that attaches to the chassis in order to prevent the basket from contacting the main frame, and an omnidirectional imaging system providing image data in and around the mobile apparatus. A user may place item(s) within a receptacle of the basket. The mobile apparatus may further include a handlebar module attached to the main frame, the handlebar module including the omnidirectional imaging system and a computing system for identifying items and events in and around the cart.

CRYOGENIC FLUID REPORTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Various cryogenic fluid reporting systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, the system comprises a cart with a base and a load cell. The base can receive and support a cryogenic fluid tank and the weight of the cryogenic fluid tank can be applied to the load cell. The cart can include a transmitter configured to transmit a signal indicative of the weight applied to the load cell. The system can include a receiver configured to receive the signal from the transmitter. The system can include a computing system in communication with the receiver. The computing system can include software configured to correlate the signal indicative of the weight of the cryogenic fluid tank to a fill amount of the tank.

LOG-IN CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF LOG-IN CONTROL APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION TERMINAL
20240296433 · 2024-09-05 ·

In one embodiment, a log-in control apparatus has a processor which controls an operation for log-in to an information terminal moving along with a carrier for carrying a commodity to be purchased. The processor detects a state in which the commodity is placed on the carrier, in cooperation with a sensor attached to the carrier. The processor detects the operation for log-in to the information terminal, in cooperation with an input device included in the information terminal. When the processor detects the operation for log-in, in a case in which the processor detects the state in which the commodity is placed on the carrier, the processor judges that the operation for log-in is ineffective.

AUTOMATED CHECKOUT SYSTEM THROUGH MOBILE SHOPPING UNITS
20180218351 · 2018-08-02 ·

A mobile shopping unit of an automated checkout system includes one or more sensors within a shopping cart that detect when a change to the contents of the shopping cart has occurred. If the mobile shopping unit detects a change, the mobile shopping unit captures image data of the contents of the shopping cart using one or more cameras mounted to the shopping cart. The mobile shopping unit uses the image data to identify the item added to or removed from the cart. The mobile shopping unit applies a machine-learned item identification model to the image data received from the cameras to determine an item identifier for the added or removed item. When the mobile shopping unit determines the identifier for the added or removed item, the mobile shopping unit updates a contents list associated with the customer that stores the items currently collected by the customer.
