Digestive Organ Internal Contents Sampling Capsule
A digestive organ internal contents sampling capsule for sampling internal contents in a digestive organ includes: a cylindrical container insoluble in a digestive tract for housing the internal contents in the digestive organ; an outer lid enclosing an orifice of the cylindrical container and to dissolve at least partially in the digestive organ; an inner lid arranged in the cylindrical container, and to swell in response to contact with the internal contents in the digestive organ to enclose the orifice of the cylindrical container after the orifice is exposed by dissolving of at least a part of the outer lid; and a marker material to be discharged together with the cylindrical container housing the internal contents in the digestive organ and feces.
Method and System for Sample Collection, Storage, Preparation and Detection
A collection device for a biological sample to capture target compounds such as viruses or other pathogens or particles for testing from within the sample and move the captured target compound to a separate chamber for subsequent processing. The collection device can include an openable substance blister including capture particles located in a cup interior. Capture particles can attract and bind the target compounds from the sample. An extraction tube extracts any nucleic acid from the target compound for storage or subsequent amplification and testing to confirm presence of known microorganisms. The extraction tube can comprise a heat-deformable material and can be connected to a microfluidic cartridge for further processing of nucleic acid including, amplification and detection. The microfluidic cartridge includes valves and a plurality of chambers for amplification.
Personal body cleaning and stool collection device and method
This invention is an apparatus for allowing a person of limited means due to obesity or age or handicap, to have a bowel movement without help. This apparatus can also be used by hikers or rock climbers in national parks that need to haul out and dispose of all fecal material. The invention utilizes the movement of a paper cartridge to clean the user and collect the bowel movement.
SAMPLING DEVICE AND ANALYSIS OF METHYLATED DNA
The invention relates to cell sampling devices. In particular, the present invention relates to ingestible cell sampling devices for sampling cells in a subject, and methods of use for detecting abnormalities in a subject using the same. Provided herein is technology for neoplasia screening, and particularly, but not exclusively, to methods, compositions, and related uses for detecting the presence of cancer.
Toilet Tracking Timing of Excreta Events
A system and method for assessing toilet user health and wellness is disclosed. The system comprises a toilet bowl adapted to receive excreta from a user; a sensor which detects at least one property of the user or excreta and records a timestamp associated with the property; and a processor which analyzes the property and uses the time stamp to correlate the property with data from previous events to assess one or more health or wellness conditions; wherein the correlation of the date stamp comprises correlating events that take place during the same segment of the day. The method comprises providing a system comprising a toilet bowl adapted to receive excreta from a user; a sensor which detects at least one property of the user or excreta and records the time of the excreta event; and a processor which analyzes the timing of excreta events and correlates the receiving excreta into the toilet bowl; obtaining data from the sensor and recording it; correlating data from separate events based on the time of day when the events occurred; and using the correlated data to monitor trends and analyze trends to assess the user's health and wellness.
Diaper for collecting biological samples
A diaper for collecting biological samples relates to light industry, and more particularly to a diaper for use in medical examinations and in diagnosing a person's state of health on the basis of an analysis of secretions and/or excreta of the individual. The technical aim of the invention is to create a diaper for the quick and efficient collection of biological samples, the use of which is not restricted by a particular type of indicator substance, and the structural characteristics of which provide for simple, convenient and efficient use. The present diaper (1) for collecting biological samples consists of at least a secretion and/or excreta absorbing base and a detachable absorbing layer (3). The secretion and/or excreta absorbing base of the diaper is provided with at least one through-hole (2). The hole is hermetically sealed on the outside by a sampling element consisting of the detachable absorbing layer and also of a water-impermeable layer (4) and a retaining layer (5).
Patient Excretion Collection Devices
Devices for collecting patient excretions utilize existing suction sources and facilitate the cleaning of bedding and/or a patient. Patient excretion collection devices comprise a collection reservoir and a collection wand which are attached to an existing source of suction.
System and Method for Obtaining Post-Infection Clearance
A system for obtaining clearance comprises a mechanism to identify the user and generate an identification signal; an analytical toilet comprising a bowl to receive excreta from the user; an analyzer configured to analyze the sample to detect one or more antibodies in a sample of the excreta or sputum and to generate an analysis signal; a processor configured to receive the identification signal and the analysis signal; determine therefrom the status of the user with respect to the one or more antibodies; and transmit a report to an authority, the report comprising the identity and the status of the user with respect to the antibodies detected. A method for obtaining clearance comprises linking a user to an analytical toilet; receiving a sample of excreta from the user in the analytical toilet; analyzing the sample of excreta in an analytical toilet to detect one or more antibodies; processing results from the analytical toilet and determining the status of the user with respect to the antibodies detected; submitting the identity and the status of the user with respect to the antibodies detected to an authority.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND DELIVERY APPARATUS
A specimen collection and delivery apparatus for collecting clinical specimens and delivery of samples thereof to, e.g., microfluidic testing devices for diagnostic analysis is disclosed. The specimen collection and delivery apparatus includes a closure housing for coupling with a sample tube at one end, an open luer for coupling with a complementary luer on a microfluidic device at the other end, and a filter matrix disposed in the interior. The filter matrix is air permeable and liquid impermeable at atmospheric pressure and prevents sample from flowing through the open luer end when coupled to a sample tube containing a specimen. Under vacuum, the liquid sample fraction of the specimen can be drawn through the filter matrix and into the microfluidic testing device through the luer connection for diagnostic analysis.
