Intra-operative imaging
The present invention relates to the use of a NIR fluorescent probe comprising an aza-bicycloalkane based cyclic peptide labelled with a Cy5.5 dye moiety in the fluorescence-guided surgery of pathologic regions and to an optical imaging method that comprises using this fluorescent probe for the identification and demarcation of tumor margins during the surgical resection.
PNEUMATIC STEPPER MOTOR AND DEVICE COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE SUCH PNEUMATIC STEPPER MOTOR
A pneumatic stepper motor includes a housing, said housing accommodating at least part of: a rack or geared axle comprising a plurality of gear elements; and two pistons, each comprising at least two teeth, said pistons being arranged to cooperate with said rack or geared axle. The racks may either be straight or curved. The pistons are preferably double-acting pistons. A device includes at least one, and preferably a plurality of, such pneumatic stepper motor(s). The device may in particular be an MRI-compatible robotic system, more in particular for example an MRI-guided breast biopsy device.
BIOPSY SYSTEMS FOR BREAST COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
A device and methods for performing a simulated CT biopsy on a region of interest on a patient. The device comprises a gantry (22) configured to mount an x-ray emitter (24) and CT detector (26) on opposing sides of the gantry, a motor (28) rotatably coupled to the gantry such that the gantry rotates horizontally about the region of interest, and a rotation of source high resolution x-ray detector (172) positioned adjacent the CT detector in between the CT detector and and detector the x-ray emitter.
DEVICES FOR GUIDING TISSUE TREATMENT AND/OR TISSUE REMOVAL PROCEDURES
The present disclosure includes customized guidance devices in the form of guidance templates configured to fit over a given area of a patient's body and provide guidance during a tissue treatment or tissue removal procedure of that given area, which may include administration of an agent to a target tissue, target tissue biopsy, target tissue resection, or target tissue ablation. The customized guidance templates are generally constructed via an additive manufacturing process (i.e., three-dimensional (3D) printing) or subtractive manufacturing process (i.e., milling) based on a fabrication instruction file, which may include imaging data of the given area of the patient's body in which targeted tissue treatment is to be performed. The fabrication instruction file may further include additional data, such as the type of procedure to be performed (i.e., biopsy of the tissue abnormality, destruction or resection of the tissue abnormality, etc.).
Biopsy site marker
A biopsy site marker configured to expand upon deployment into a biopsy cavity, and visible under several different imaging modalities, comprises a superabsorbent hydrogel component and a radiopaque element. The hydrogel is in a compressed, dehydrated state prior to deployment to facilitate placement of the marker within the biopsy site, and thereafter expands upon deployment in the biopsy site. Such expansion limits migration of the site marker.
INLET INSTRUMENTATION FOR ION ANALYSER COUPLED TO RAPID EVAPORATIVE IONISATION MASS SPECTROMETRY ("REIMS") DEVICE
An apparatus is disclosed comprising a first device for generating aerosol, smoke or vapour from one or more regions of a target, an inlet conduit to an ion analyser or mass spectrometer, the inlet conduit having an inlet through which the aerosol, smoke or vapour passes, and a Venturi pump arrangement arranged and adapted to direct the aerosol, smoke or vapour towards the inlet.
Systems and methods for detecting an indication of malignancy in a sequence of anatomical images
A method for detecting an indication of likelihood of malignancy, comprising: receiving a sequence of anatomical images of a breast of a target individual acquired over a time interval during which contrast is administered, analyzing the sequence of anatomical images to identify: a baseline pre-contrast image denoting lack of contrast, a peak contrast image denoting a peak contrast enhancement, an initial uptake image denoting initial contrast enhancement, and a delayed response image denoting final contrast enhancement, creating a multi-channel image representation comprising: intensity channel including the peak contrast enhanced image, contrast-update channel including the computed difference between the peak contrast enhanced image and the pre-contrast image, and contrast-washout channel including the computed difference between the initial uptake image and the delayed response image, and computing by a trained deep convolutional neural network, a classification category indicative of likelihood of malignancy for the sequence according to the multi-channel image representation.
Liquid Trap or Separator for Electrosurgical Applications
An apparatus for mass spectrometry and/or ion mobility spectrometry is disclosed comprising a first device arranged and adapted to generate aerosol, smoke or vapour from a target and one or more second devices arranged and adapted to aspirate aerosol, smoke, vapour and/or liquid to or towards an analyser. A liquid trap or separator is provided to capture and/or discard liquid aspirated by the one or more second devices.
BREAST BIOPSY AND NEEDLE LOCALIZATION USING TOMOSYNTHESIS SYSTEMS
Methods, devices, apparatuses and systems are disclosed for performing mammography, such as utilizing tomosynthesis in combination with breast biopsy.
