A steer-by-wire steering system includes: a steering device including a steering motor powered by a main power source and/or a backup power source; and a controller configured to control the steering device based on a steering request. When the backup power source is normal, the controller executes an abnormal-situation control based on electric power supplied to the steering motor by the main power source and/or the backup power source when the controller determines that the voltage of the main power source is less than a first threshold. When the backup power source is abnormal, the controller executes the abnormal-situation control based on electric power supplied to the steering motor by the main power source when the controller determines that the voltage of the main power source is less than a second threshold that is greater than the first threshold.

The control device has a two-degree-of-freedom control system including a feed-forward model for converting a target turning angle into a feed-forward value of the motor command value, and a feedback model for converting a difference between the target turning angle and an actual turning angle into a feedback value of the motor command value. A transfer function describing the feed-forward model contains a variable coefficient. The control device changes the variable coefficient of the transfer function based on information about road surface reaction.

The processor is configured to receive a desired maximum pressure value from a retrofitted electric vehicle and configure the relief valve or motor controller to provide relief at the desired maximum pressure value; and receive a desired flow rate from the retrofitted electric vehicle and configure the motor controller to operate the motor at a speed to achieve the desired flow rate. The interconnection housing has an annularly encircling base section and a number of carrier sections that correspond to the number of phase connections. The carrier sections extend axially starting from the base section, wherein the respective phase connection has an axially extending contact section and a connecting section that runs orthogonally to the axially extending contact section. The respective phase connection is inserted into the associated carrier section in such a way that an axial movement of the contact section of the respective phase connection is blocked in the direction of the base section and is permitted in the opposite direction.
