MOTOR CONTROL DEVICE AND STEERING SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME

A main power supply having a large capacity and a backup power supply having a small capacity are switchable by a power supply switching determination unit in a system. A motor control device drives a motor by the main power supply or the backup power supply. A drive control unit outputs a drive signal, calculated by feedback control of the current detection value with respect to the current command value, to an inverter circuit. When the power supply switching determination unit switches from the main power supply to the backup power supply, the drive control unit moves from a normal control using the main power supply to a backup control that restricts an electric power consumption and prevents the backup power supply from stopping.

ELECTRIC ROTATING MACHINE APPARATUS AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING APPARATUS

In an electric rotating machine apparatus according to the present disclosure, there is adopted a structure in which an extending portion of a control circuit board on which a power module for supplying electric power to windings and a driving circuit for the power module are mounted passes through an external-connection opening portion of an electromagnetic shield and then is connected with connectors. A filter circuit 11 is mounted on the extending portion of the control circuit board so as to secure noise-removal capability. Because a conventional dedicated wiring board for mounting the filter circuit thereon is not required, the foregoing structure can contribute to downsizing and cost reduction. In addition, the foregoing structure can contribute to downsizing and cost reduction of an electric power steering apparatus equipped with the electric rotating machine apparatus according to the present disclosure.

CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A control device for a vehicle equipped with a steering system including a steering wheel (13), a rack (12) for steering the wheels (4) of the vehicle, and a redundant arrangement for transmitting a displacement of the steering wheel to the rack, wherein upon detecting a failure in the redundant arrangement, the control device sets an upper limit speed to a first value in a first stage, and changes the upper limit speed from the first value to a second value smaller than the first value in a progressive manner in a second stage that follows the first stage.

Torque transmission joint and electric-powered power steering apparatus

A torque transmission joint to suppress occurrence of noise when reversing the direction of rotation of a drive shaft. A first transmission member fixed to an output shaft (the drive shaft) is engaged with a first elastic member such that a first gap in a circumferential direction is interposed, as well as with an intermediate transmission member such that a larger gap in the circumferential direction is interposed. A second transmission member fixed to an end portion of a worm is engaged with a second elastic member such that a second gap in the circumferential direction is interposed, as well as with the intermediate transmission member such that a larger gap in the circumferential direction is interposed. First and second annular convex portions are fitted to, respectively, first and second concave portions to prevent separation of the first and second elastic members with respect to the intermediate transmission member.

Steering systems use and failure monitoring

A method to determine, in real time, a use-life of a steering system includes tracking an attribute signal associated with the steering system. The method further includes, based on a determination that the attribute signal rises above an upper threshold and subsequently falls below a lower threshold, selecting a subset of categories based on a frequency content of the attribute signal. The method further includes selecting a category from the subset of categories based on a peak load occurring in sequence to the attribute signal via a secondary attribute signal. The method further includes incrementing a counter for the selected category. The method further includes computing the use-life based on a ratio of the counter for the selected category and a predetermined count for said selected category.

Steering system

A steering system installed on a vehicle, including: a steering mechanism including a steering member and configured to enable a wheel to be steered in accordance with a movement of the steering member; an operation assist device configured to apply a torque to a steering shaft for assisting an operation of a steering operation member; a steering assist device configured to assist the movement of the steering member utilizing a working fluid; and a controller configured to control a torque applied to the steering shaft by the operation assist device and control a supply flow rate of the working fluid, wherein the steering assist device assists the movement of the steering member with an assist force that depends on the supply flow rate, and the controller increases the supply flow rate when an operation speed of the steering operation member becomes equal to or higher than a set threshold speed.
