Incontinence Detection System Capable of Identifying Urinary or Fecal Incontinence

An incontinence detection system includes an incontinence detection pad underneath a patient's pelvic area for detecting an incontinence event. The incontinence detection system further includes a moisture detection sensor, a gas detection sensor, and a reader. The moisture detection sensor is embedded in the incontinence detection pad for detecting a presence of moisture in incontinence detection pad. The gas detection sensor is positioned near the incontinence detection pad for detecting a presence of targeted gas, such as methane. The reader is communicatively coupled to the moisture detection sensor and the gas detection sensor to receive moisture data and gas data, respectively. The reader is configured to determine a type of the incontinence event based on the received moisture data and the gas data and transmit a signal indicative of the type of incontinence event to a server.

BIOMONITORING DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR USE IN A BATHROOM SETTING

Provided is a biomonitoring device that measures a parameter of a material expelled during use of a toilet by a user. Also provided is a biomonitoring mirror device that identifies a user, detects a febrile illness in a user, dispenses medications/supplements, connects to electrical device accessories in the bathroom, and provides an interactive user interface. Additionally provided is a system for measuring a parameter of a material expelled during use of a toilet by a user. Further provided is a method of determining a physiological parameter of a user.

Toilet with flush jet fill tube flow meter

The present invention is directed to a toilet that includes a liquid level sensor on the surface of a flush jet fill tube. The liquid level sensor is a noncontact electrical impedance sensor that is an electrical capacitor. The capacitor may be used alone or with other volume sensors to detect volume of materials added to a toilet bowl. Some embodiments include a processor which records data and provides reports that may be clinically useful to assess the user's health status. The temporal nature of the liquid level sensor measurements is particularly useful because urination or defecation may be measured over time. Not only are total volumes detected but rates at which waste is deposited into the toilet during the entire excretion event are detected. These measurements are particularly useful in assessing certain health conditions.

Gas detection system for gynecological disease detection and detection method using the same

A gas detection system for gynecological disease detection and a detection method using the same are provided. The gas detection system is configured to detect an analyte from a female vagina and includes a main body, a sleeve, a detector, a pump, and a controller. The main body includes a body portion and a head portion having an intake channel. The body portion includes a detection chamber and an exhaust channel. The detector includes at least one sensor configured to detect at least one target of the analyte and produce at least one detection signal. The pump is communicated with the detection chamber and the exhaust channel. The controller includes a processing unit and a first communication unit. The processing unit receives the at least one detection signal and controls the first communication unit to send the at least one detection signal.

System for breath sample collection and analysis

Systems and methods for collecting samples from a patient for diagnosis are provided. In many embodiments, the sample collection and analysis system concentrates particles emanating from a patient's cough, sneeze, or breathe in a sample for the diagnosis of a respiratory tract infection or other ailment of the patient. The sample collection and analysis system has a pre-collection assembly (that is patient interface, a collector in fluid communication with a sample reservoir that function in combination to: efficiently capture the volume of air expelled from the subject, direct the expelled air towards a sample reservoir, and separate the desired particle sizes from the expelled air into the sample reservoir.

Liquid Trap or Separator for Electrosurgical Applications

An apparatus for mass spectrometry and/or ion mobility spectrometry is disclosed comprising a first device arranged and adapted to generate aerosol, smoke or vapour from a target and one or more second devices arranged and adapted to aspirate aerosol, smoke, vapour and/or liquid to or towards an analyser. A liquid trap or separator is provided to capture and/or discard liquid aspirated by the one or more second devices.

An oral care device for placement in the oral cavity. The oral care device may include a support component, a piezoelectric component, and/or a therapeutic element. The support component is configured for placement between one or more maxillary teeth and one or more mandibular teeth. The piezoelectric element is configured to generate an electrical current from relative movement of the maxillary teeth and the mandibular teeth. The therapeutic element is configured to release a therapeutic composition into the oral cavity at least in part in response to receiving the electrical signal. The device may include the piezoelectric component, the therapeutic element, or both.

Vapor sensor suitable for detecting alcoholic residue at a skin site

A vapor sensor comprises a housing with an inlet opening in fluid communication with a sensor element within the housing. Standoff member(s) are positioned to maintain a gap between the inlet opening and a skin site. An operating circuit is in electrical communication with the sensor element and communicatively coupled to an output member. In use, the output member generates a sensory output indicative to an operator regarding concentration of alcoholic vapor in the ambient atmosphere proximate the skin site upon receiving communication from the operating circuit.

We disclose a cell-based olfactory sensing device which may be used to diagnose diseases that a mammal, insect, or other organism may diagnose by smell. The device includes a multi-well cell culture plate which cultivates a plurality of cell lines. The cell lines each express a heterologously expressed olfactory receptor gene and a reporter gene. When a ligand from a biological sample derived from a user binds one or more of the olfactory receptors expressed by the cell lines, the reporter genes are expressed. The product of the reporter genes is detectable. Furthermore, the device may be part of a medical toilet. The device may include a controller which may include a memory and a machine-readable medium for analyzing data the device collects.
