Low suspension arm strut coupling
11807325 · 2023-11-07 ·

A low suspension arm strut coupling is provided for a suspension of an off-road vehicle. The suspension comprises a lower suspension arm that is hingedly coupled between a chassis of the off-road vehicle and a spindle assembly that is coupled with a front wheel. An upper suspension arm is hingedly coupled between the chassis and the spindle assembly. A strut is coupled between the lower suspension arm and the chassis. A lower pivot couples the strut to the lower suspension, and an upper pivot couples the strut to the chassis. The upper and lower pivots provide a lower center of gravity of the off-road vehicle and a relatively smaller shock angle. The lower suspension arm is reinforced to withstand forces due to movement of the front wheel and operation of the strut in response to travel over terrain.

Vehicle with tilt frame and spring damper system
11801892 · 2023-10-31 ·

A vehicle with a base frame to which at least two sprung suspensions, in particular sprung wheel suspensions, for driven, non-driven, steerable or non-steerable contact elements, for example wheels, are attached which can be steered by means of a steering knuckle and are located on both sides of the longitudinal direction of travel, in each case transversely to the direction of travel, a tilt frame, tiltable in a tilt axis with respect to the base frame. A steering tube is rotatably attached to the tilt frame in the steering axis and automatically tilts with the tilt frame, at least one track rod connected to the track rod actuating element, and a linear or rotary track rod actuating element rotatable over a guide element. The track rod actuating element is displaced by tilting the tilt frame about the tilt axis and independently thereof by rotating the steering tube about the steering axis in such a way that the steerable contact element is given a steering movement by the track rod actuating element by means of the at least one track rod and no substantial change in the camber of the contact elements takes place during cornering, wherein the vehicle comprises at least one spring damper system which is suitable and provided for reducing a pendulum tilt of a tilt frame about the vertical zero position.

Mounting unit for mounting a steering shaft in an associated mounting sleeve and steering column assembly

The disclosure relates to a steering system for a motor vehicle, which is designed as a steer-by-wire steering system and comprises a rack, an electric drive for longitudinal displacement of the rack, a worm gear and a drive shaft which is in toothed engagement with the rack. The electric drive is connected to the drive shaft by the worm gear so as to transmit torque.

Universal axle-hub assembly
11820450 · 2023-11-21 ·

A universal axle-hub assembly is provided for an off-road vehicle. The universal axle-hub assembly comprises a wheel hub that receives a constant velocity (CV) axle snout into an opening extending through an axle support of the wheel hub. An outboard-most portion of the opening is a splined portion that engages with similar splines disposed on an outboard-most portion of the CV axle snout. An inboard-most portion of the opening is a smooth portion that receives a smooth portion of the CV axle snout. The axle support extends through an entirety of the width of a bearing that supports the wheel hub, such that the bearing supports the smooth portion of the CV axle snout and substantially eliminates shear forces acting on the splined portion of the CV axle snout. A bearing carrier supports the bearing and may be fastened onto a trailing arm or a spindle of the off-road vehicle.

A damper unit for use in a vibration-reducing assembly for a steering wheel is disclosed. An elastomeric damper element is molded on an inner sleeve and includes a plurality of elastomeric ribs forming a radially outer engagement surface, and a plurality of elastomeric support studs, which are mutually spaced in a circumferential direction are flexible in all directions transverse to said axis. Methods for making a damper unit and a damper assembly are also disclosed.

Steering wheel

A steering wheel, in which an airbag device is attached to a core metal, including a through hole for attachment of the airbag device, via a horn switch mechanism, the horn switch mechanism including: a metal pin member whose tip end portion is locked to the core metal via an engagement member to be engaged with the tip end portion in a state where the tip end portion is inserted into the through hole and which forms a part of an electrical circuit configured to operate the horn device; and a resin cap which is interposed between an inner surface of the through hole and an outer surface of the pin member, the steering wheel includes a plurality of connection paths configured to normally connect the pin member and the core metal in a manner of forming a part of the electrical circuit.

Damping of an oscillation of a superimposed steering system
11377147 · 2022-07-05 · ·

A method for damping an oscillation of a superimposed steering system of a motor vehicle in which a sensor of the superimposed steering system detects an actual steering angle of a motor of the superimposed steering system and a control device of the superimposed steering system determines an oscillation of the superimposed steering system as a periodic change of the detected actual steering angle and, in the case of a determined oscillation, carries out a measure for damping the oscillation.
