AN APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING LIQUID SAMPLE
The present invention provides an apparatus for collecting and detecting liquid samples comprising a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber is used for collecting liquid samples for initial detection, and the second chamber is used for collecting liquid samples for second confirmatory detection. The first chamber and second chamber of the apparatus are detachable. When a second confirmatory detection is necessary, the second chamber can be separated from the first chamber, and then sent to a detection agency for confirmatory detection. It can avoid the contamination of liquid samples caused by contacting with test strip of a traditional apparatus; thus, it can effectively reduce the space required for storing liquid samples and greatly reduce the risk of leakage of liquid sampled during transportation.
DEVICE AND METHODS FOR COLLECTING AND PROCESSING ANALYTES IN AIR/BREATH
The present invention relates to a device for the collection of breath and/or air and the processing and analysis of analytes contained therein. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of collecting exhaled breath and/or air and processing and analyzing one or more analytes contained therein.
Tissue sample holder with enhanced fluid management
A biopsy device includes a body, an axial tube, a needle assembly, and a tissue sample holder. The body includes a proximal end. The axial tube extends proximally from the proximal end of the body. The axial tube includes at least one aperture. The needle assembly extends distally from the body and includes a needle and a cutter. The cutter is movable relative to the needle. The tissue sample holder is configured to removably couple to a proximal end of the body such that the axial tube is disposed within the tissue sample holder. At least a portion of the tissue sample holder is rotatable relative to the body such that the tissue sample holder is configured to rotate about the axial tube. The tissue sample holder is in fluid communication with the axial tube through the at least one aperture.
TISSUE SAMPLE CORING SYSTEM
The present technology generally relates to a cryogenic tissue sample storage system. Select embodiments of a tissue sample storage system include a tray having a first well configured to receive a first tissue sample therein a second well configured to receive a second tissue sample therein. The tray can include a first well identification feature associated with the first well and a second well identification feature associated with the second well. The storage system can further include a lid hingedly associated with the tray and movable between (a) a first position in which the first and second wells are occluded by the lid, and (b) a second position in which the first and second wells are externally accessible. The first well identification feature can be unique from the second well identification feature.
HEALTH CARE MIRROR
One implementation of the present disclosure is an apparatus including a mirror frame configured to support a mirror substrate that provides a reflection of one or more users in proximity of the mirror cabinet, a sensor cavity coupled to the mirror frame and a controller configured to analyze data received from the temperature sensor.
Cartridge device with bypass channel for mitigating drift of fluid samples
The present disclosure relates to analytical testing devices comprising microfluidics and methods for performing an assay on a fluid sample received within the microfluidics, and in particular, to mitigating drift of fluid samples over a sensor by incorporating a bypass channel into the microfluidics. For example, a test cartridge device is provided that includes a fluid sample entry port and holding chamber connected to a bifurcation junction of a sensor channel and a bypass channel. The sensor channel includes an upstream region and a downstream region, and an analyte sensor is in the upstream region. As a cross-sectional area of the bypass channel is greater than the cross-sectional area of the downstream region of the sensor channel, the bypass channel is a preferred path for excess sample flow and pressure, and thus sample drift above the analyte sensor is mitigated.
Kit for the sampling of biological liquid such as urine and method utilizing such kit
The invention relates to a kit (1) for the sampling of biological liquid in particular urine comprising: a flexible accumulator (2) of biological liquid adapted to collect the liquid comprising at least one liquid absorbing layer (10) and at least one support layer (11) attached thereto; at least one closed recipient (3) comprising a tubular container (5) with a tubular sidewall portion (6) and a bottom portion (7) forming an elongated tubular cavity (9) and a closing lid (5) sealingly connected to the sidewall portion (6); wherein the accumulator (2) is configured for being inserted in the tubular cavity (9) of the container, wherein the recipient (3) comprises holding means (12) configured for maintaining the accumulator in position in the recipient and distant from the bottom portion (7) of the container.
MICROFLUIDIC DEVICES FOR DENTAL APPLICATIONS
Disclosed is a microfluidic device having a channel a chamber in fluid communication with the channel. The chamber is sized to contain dental sample that is form a semipermeable barrier through which fluid from the channel is deliverable to the dental sample.
MEDICAL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLLECTION AND PREPARATION OF BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES
A medical apparatus is provided including an elongated body and defining a loading chamber between a proximal end and a distal end thereof for storing a liquid therein, the elongated body defining an outlet at the distal end thereof; a cell block filter assembly including a cell block body and defining a well portion matingly engageable with the distal end of the elongated body for receiving fluid from the outlet of the elongated body and defining a well opening on a bottom thereof; a filter membrane disposed across the well opening on the bottom of the well portion; and a cover member positionable over the well portion wherein the entire cell block filter assembly is sliceable into slices having a thickness suitable for mounting on a laboratory slide.
APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING AND PACKAGING FECES
This application relates to configured to a feces collecting and packaging apparatus for performing automated operations of collecting and packaging the entire excrements. In one aspect, a bag supply machine of the apparatus dispenses a plastic bag with an upper opening directed into an inner space of a main body when a subject is on a seat of the main body. Following excretion, a sealing machine of the apparatus closes the upper opening of the plastic bag when the entire stools are completely contained. A collection machine of the apparatus secures the sealed plastic bag from the inner space of the main body.
