URINE COLLECTION, STORAGE, AND TESTING ASSEMBLY
A urine collection assembly includes a container; a funnel removably coupled to the container, the funnel in fluid communication with the container; a first collection chamber in selective communication with the funnel; a valve configured to allow selective communication between the first collection chamber and the funnel; a second collection chamber in selective communication with the funnel; and a lid removably coupleable to the funnel. A saddle may be removably coupleable to the funnel and configured to guide urine into the container.
BIOLOGICAL FLUID TEST DEVICE, IN PARTICULAR A SALIVA TEST DEVICE
The invention relates to a biological fluid test device (1), in particular a saliva test device, the device comprising:—a sample collector (2) in the form of a membrane, —a means for checking whether the quantity is sufficient, the collector being configured to cause a biological fluid to migrate to the checking means, - a means for displaying, on the device, a test result for at least one desired substance, characterised in that the device (1) comprises, or is associated with, at least one means for removing the collector and storing it for second expert opinion purposes. The invention also relates to a corresponding kit and method.
System and method for authenticated exchange of biosamples
The present disclosure relates to identifying and authenticating samples of biological material such as human tissue samples, especially when such samples are passed from one entity, institution or holding bank to another. In some aspects, a sample Exchange acts as a bio hub in a bio exchange environment, and receives biosamples and associated data from one or more sample collection entities. The Exchange generates and associates a trusted and unique genetic code (UGC) based on the genetic content of a sample, which is carried forward to subsequent sample users in a chain of transactions in said sample, securely identifying and authenticating a physical and digital asset to avoid mistake or fraud in the transfer of said assets.
MULTI-COMPONENT SAMPLE CONTAINER CAP
A sample container cap (or “cap”) is configured to be used with a sample container for collecting fluids. The cap has a body and a shutter connected to the body. The cap has a (1) first, open position in which at least one body opening and at least one shutter opening are not aligned and the cap is configured so that fluid cannot readily pass therethrough, (2) second, open position in which the at least one body opening and the at least one shutter opening are aligned and the cap is configured so that fluid can pass therethrough, and (3) third, closed and locked position, in which the at least one shutter opening and the at least one body opening are not aligned and fluid cannot readily pass through the cap, and the cap is configured to not be moved to an open position.
System and method for in situ measuring and collecting samples of analyte concentration in bodily fluids
A system and related methods include a durable component, an indicator component including an indicator zone comprising at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element, at least one moisture sensor, and a fluid collection reservoir. The durable component contains at least one spectrophotometer, a computing system, and means for electronic communication between the computing system and at least one external device. The indicator component includes at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element and a fluid transport layer in fluid communication with the indicator zone, and it is arranged and configured for attachment to the durable component. In addition, the moisture sensor is arranged and configured to communicate the presence of moisture to initiate a predetermined delay in measuring the concentration of at least one analyte. The fluid collection reservoir is releasable from at least one of the indicator components and the durable component at a predetermined breaking point for clinical analysis.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION CONTAINER
A specimen collection container is provided, the specimen collection container being capable of suppressing a change in a mixing ratio of a specimen collected to a liquid contained even when a long period of time has elapsed after manufacturing. A specimen collection container according to the present invention is a specimen collection container into which a specimen is collected, the specimen collection container including: a container main body having an opening; a plug attached to the opening; a barrier film disposed on an outer surface of the container main body; and a liquid contained in the container main body, the barrier film having a water vapor transmission rate at 40° C. and 90% RH of 0.8 g/(m.sup.2.Math.day) or less.
Methods for delivery of bodily fluids onto a fibrous substrate
The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to devices, systems and methods for the collection of bodily fluids. The collector can make use of microfluidic networks connected to collection sites on the skin of a subject to gather and shuttle blood into a removable cartridge. The collected fluid is supplied to substrate for drying, storage and transport.
Device for storing and transporting tissue specimens
A container comprising: a first panel; a second panel opposing the first panel; a first side; a second side opposing the first side; a third side; a fourth side opposing the third side; wherein each of the sides joins the first panel and the second panel; a chamber defined by the four sides, the first panel, and the second panel, wherein the chamber is configured to receive a biological specimen; a port defined in the first side; a plug inserted into the port; an opening defined in the second side; and a closure element coupled to the opening, wherein the chamber is leak proof.
Devices and methods for collecting saliva samples from the oral cavity
Provided are methods for collecting saliva from the oral cavity of a mammal comprising: placing a mouthpiece of a device comprising the mouthpiece in the oral cavity of a mammal, the mouthpiece comprising a chamber defined by front and rear inner walls and a base inner wall of the mouthpiece, each of the front and rear inner walls of the chamber comprising a plurality of openings, and a switch disposed in the mouthpiece; and the device further comprising a saliva collection reservoir, a fluid supply reservoir, a pump, and means for directing fluid through said device; activating the switch disposed in the mouthpiece to pump saliva from the oral cavity to the saliva collection reservoir for collection; deactivating the pumping of saliva to the saliva collection reservoir; and subsequently pumping fluid from the fluid supply reservoir to the mouthpiece for cleaning or treatment of the oral cavity.
Sexual assault evidence collection kit usable by a victim
A sexual assault evidence collection kit that may be used by the victim or other non-professionals. The kit may be simplified compared to kits for professional use, and may be usable with no specialized training. Victims may therefore be able to collect evidence themselves after an assault, instead of searching for a facility with personnel trained in forensic evidence collection, and enduring a long, intrusive examination. Embodiments may include a package (for example a clear bag) and the following components inside the package: gloves, swabs, swab containers, water, evidence collection bags, evidence bag sealing tape, evidence collection tape, a permanent marker, and instructions on how to identify, collect, seal, document, and store evidence.
