Vehicle wet dry barrier support structures and techniques
A wet dry barrier support system for a vehicle includes a support structure portion with mounting locations for mounting suspension components of a vehicle, mounting locations for coupling to a body of the vehicle, and a barrier portion to provide an environmental barrier to separate a first area of the vehicle from a second area of a vehicle. The support structure portion may provide a stiff mounting interface between the body and the suspension components by transferring loads therebetween and may define a through-cavity configured to pass a vehicle component through the through-cavity. The barrier portion may plastically deform upon receiving an energetic input from an impact of the vehicle and may prevent the wet dry barrier support system from entering a passenger compartment during the impact.

A cockpit for a vehicle, wherein the cockpit comprises a first module with a support and a second module with a support. The support of the second module is arranged in a first direction behind the support of the first module and higher than the support of the first module, so that the support of the first module slides at least partially under the support of the second module in the first direction in a crash case with a force acting on the first module.

Vehicle subframes and methods of producing the same are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a subframe of a vehicle including longitudinal members, and lateral extensions extending from the longitudinal members, the lateral extensions extending outward from a longitudinal centerline of the vehicle, outer edges of the lateral extensions including contours to avoid turn radii of steerable tires of the vehicle.
Vehicle front structure
The present disclosure includes: a cowl member that is formed to extend in a vehicle width direction and bulges to the front from a rear side of a motor chamber; a power unit that is fixed to a right side frame in the motor chamber, has a lower portion fixed to a vehicle body, and drives the vehicle by electricity; and a protection bracket provided on an upper surface of the power unit, wherein the protection bracket is configured to abut the cowl member in the case where a frontal collision of a vehicle occurs and the power unit moves downward to the rear.
Motor vehicle component
The invention relates to a motor vehicle component 1, in particular a B pillar and similar shaped components. The motor vehicle component 1 has a shaped, in particular hot-formed or cold-formed, base member 2 of sheet steel. The base member 2 has a surface portion 3 which is provided with holes 7. According to the invention, the surface portion 3 has a tensile strength Rm greater than or equal to (≥) 1250 MPa. A hole pattern 6 which comprises at least three holes 7 forms a deformation influence zone 8 in the surface portion 3. The surface portion of the holes 7 in the surface portion 3 is between 7% and 60% and the holes 7 have a diameter d of up to 30p mm.
Motor vehicle component
The invention relates to a motor vehicle component 1, in particular a B pillar and similar shaped components. The motor vehicle component 1 has a shaped, in particular hot-formed or cold-formed, base member 2 of sheet steel. The base member 2 has a surface portion 3 which is provided with holes 7. According to the invention, the surface portion 3 has a tensile strength Rm greater than or equal to (≥) 1250 MPa. A hole pattern 6 which comprises at least three holes 7 forms a deformation influence zone 8 in the surface portion 3. The surface portion of the holes 7 in the surface portion 3 is between 7% and 60% and the holes 7 have a diameter d of up to 30p mm.

A cowl panel comprises an upper face portion where a windshield is joined, a forward protrusion portion extending downwardly from the upper face portion, protruding forwardly, a rearward protrusion portion extending downwardly from a rear lower end of the forward protrusion portion, protruding rearwardly, and a lower face portion extending forwardly from a lower end of the rearward protrusion portion. A reinforcing member which is positioned on a forward side of the forward protrusion portion and the rearward protrusion portion of the cowl panel and joined to the forward protrusion portion and the lower face portion is provided. The reinforcing member comprises a straight portion which substantially straightly extends downwardly from a joint part where the reinforcing member is joined to the forward protrusion portion, and the straight portion is provided with a fragile part.
Vehicle-body structure of vehicle
A cowl panel comprises an upper face portion where a windshield is joined, a forward protrusion portion extending downwardly from the upper face portion, protruding forwardly, a rearward protrusion portion extending downwardly from a rear lower end of the forward protrusion portion, protruding rearwardly, and a lower face portion extending forwardly from a lower end of the rearward protrusion portion. A reinforcing member which is positioned on a forward side of the forward protrusion portion and the rearward protrusion portion of the cowl panel and joined to the forward protrusion portion and the lower face portion is provided. The reinforcing member comprises a straight portion which substantially straightly extends downwardly from a joint part where the reinforcing member is joined to the forward protrusion portion, and the straight portion is provided with a fragile part.
MOTOR VEHICLE HAVING A MEANS FOR RELEASING THE FRONT WHEEL IN THE EVENT OF FRONTAL IMPACT
The present invention relates to a motor vehicle having a front wheel consisting of a rim with an inner sidewall and an underbody structure comprising a front longitudinal member (1), an A-pillar (3) and a connecting piece (5) between the front longitudinal member (1) and the A-pillar (3), the connecting piece (5) being located at the back of the front wheel. The vehicle is characterized in that the connecting piece (5) has a bearing element (7) with a raised section (9) projecting toward the front of the vehicle, the raised section (9) extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle.
