MEDICAL NEEDLE GUIDANCE SYSTEM
20220370050 · 2022-11-24 · ·

An insertion tool guide for a medical procedure like a biopsy. The tool guide includes (a) a frame configured to be adjoined to a medical image modality and maintain an insertion angle aligned with a plane of view generated by the medical image modality; (b) a guide body having an adjustable channel configured to receive and translate an insertion tool; (c) a main channel defined by the frame configured to allow the guide body and the insertion tool to rotate within a plane of movement; (d) a guide channel formed along one side of the frame configured to allow the guide body to translate along its length; and (e) a peg extending from the guide body and through the guide channel to secure the guide body within the frame. The guide body is configured to rotate about an axis defined by the peg.

BREAST BIOPSY LATERAL ARM SYSTEM

A breast biopsy lateral arm system includes a removable gun mount which attaches to a carriage that traverses along an X-axis defined by a lateral arm in order to position a biopsy needle relative to a patient. The carriage rides along the lateral arm on self-adjusting rollers which are loaded against the lateral arm by spring members. A cam-actuated carriage slide lock can be used to secure the carriage in a desired position relative to the lateral arm. A cam-actuated removable gun mount lock allows the gun mount to be quickly changed and offset orthogonally with respect to the X-axis. An X-axis stop can be used to establish a position to which the carriage can be returned with accuracy.

Biopsy device with selectable tissue receiving aperature orientation and site illumination

A biopsy device includes a disposable elongated probe component having a coaxial arrangement of an elongated tubular section and an elongated tissue cutting member, and having a coaxial arrangement of a first driven gear, a second driven gear, and a third driven gear. The first driven gear is configured to rotate the elongated tubular section. The second driven gear is configured to rotate to longitudinally move the elongated tissue cutting member. The third driven gear is configured to rotate or oscillate the elongated tissue cutting member. A driver component has a coaxial arrangement of a first drive gear, a second drive gear, and a third drive gear. The first drive gear is drivably engaged with the first driven gear. The second drive gear is drivably engaged with the second driven gear. The third drive gear is drivably engaged with the third driven gear.

System for generating data relating to a tissue core biopsy, and the use of the system to detect tissue abnormalities, in particular cancerous tissue, in a patient

A system for generating data relating to a tissue core comprises a core needle biopsy module configured to obtain a tissue core from a locus within the body, and a tissue disintegration module operably connected to the core needle biopsy module and configured to receive a tissue core from the core needle biopsy module and convert at least a portion of the tissue core into gaseous tissue molecules. The system also comprises first vacuum pump means configured to convey a tissue core from the needle biopsy module to the tissue disintegration module, and second vacuum pump means configured to convey gaseous tissue molecules from the tissue disintegration module to an analyser module.

Dual needle core biopsy instrument

The embodiments presented herein present a single needle core biopsy instrument and modification required that convert the single needle core biopsy instrument to a dual needle core biopsy instrument. Depending on the design, the dual needle core biopsy instrument permits the simultaneous extraction of tissue or bone specimens taken at between 0.1 mm and 3 mm apart.

Transfemoral transcaval liver access and devices

Shaped liver biopsy sheaths and methods for transfemoral transcaval liver access are disclosed.

Steerable medical instrument

The disclosure of this application relates generally to medical devices and in particular to a steerable medical instrument applicable to guide interventional tools and instruments, such as percutaneous biopsy and ablations tools and endoscopes. The steerable medical instrument has an outer and an inner tube where the inner tube is movable at the proximal end and fixed at the distal end. At least one of the outer tube and inner tube has a plurality of openings, which creates deformable portions so that the outer and the inner tubes can bend by moving the inner tube at the proximal end.

Aspiration syringe

The invention relates to the field of medical equipment, more specifically to syringes, and can be used for procedures of aspiration of various fluids, for fine needle biopsy, for puncture morphological diagnostics, and for injections of liquid medicinal products. The subject matter of the invention: the disclosed device, including a barrel with a tip for attaching a needle at one end, a piston with a stem slidingly mounted inside the barrel, and a grip at the end of the stem, according to the invention, is provided with a handle moveably coupled to the stem grip and rotatable in relation to a hinge unit located on the stem grip, wherein the handle is at least formed as a bracket with a reverse grip located at the end opposite to the handle attachment and having a slot arranged in the middle portion and intended for enclosing the stem on two sides.

Photoacoustic image generation apparatus

A photoacoustic image generation apparatus includes: a puncture needle that generates photoacoustic waves; an ultrasound probe that detects the photoacoustic waves and reflected ultrasonic waves reflected by the transmission of ultrasonic waves; a processor that generates a color Doppler signal of a region of interest as a color Doppler measurement target, generates a photoacoustic image on the basis of the photoacoustic waves, and detects the position of a tip portion of the puncture needle on the basis of the photoacoustic image; and a controller that sets the region of interest such that the position of the tip portion of the puncture needle and a center position of the region of interest are separated from each other by a predetermined distance and sets the region of interest, following the movement of the tip portion of the puncture needle, in a state in which the distance is maintained.
