A vehicle body structure includes an engine cradle and an impact receiving structure. A forward end of the first side portion and a first lateral end of a front portion of the engine cradle are fixedly attached to one another. The first side portion has a rearward section and a forward section, the rearward section being horizontally oriented and the forward section extending upward and forward from the rearward section defining an acute angle therebetween, the acute angle being between 30 and 35 degrees. The impact receiving structure is installed to the first side portion of the engine cradle proximate an intersection between the first side portion and the front member. A lower surface of the impact receiving structure extends downward along the forward section of the first side portion further defining the acute angle of the forward section of the first side portion of the engine cradle.

Adjustment assembly for a vehicle with an ultrasonic system and method for obstacle detection

An adjustment assembly for use in a vehicle, including an adjustable part configured to move between an open position and a closed with respect to a vehicle body. The adjustable part may include an outer side and an inner side. At least a portion of the adjustable part may define an opening extending between the outer side and the inner side. The adjustment assembly may include an ultrasonic transmitter, disposed on either the adjustable part or the vehicle body and may be configured to emit a number of ultrasonic waves to an obstacle, and an ultrasonic receiver disposed on the inner side of the adjustable part and configured to receive the ultrasonic waves reflected from the obstacle through the opening.

Motor vehicle front section

A motor vehicle front section of a motor vehicle includes a first spatial region, a second spatial region formed separately from the first spatial region, a first cover that covers the first spatial region, and a second cover that covers the second spatial region. The first cover extends substantially over a width of the motor vehicle front section, and the second cover extends substantially over the width of the motor vehicle front section. The first cover is arranged in front of or behind the second cover in a vehicle longitudinal direction. An access is provided in at least one of the covers for at least one connection arranged underneath the cover.

Front vehicle-body structure of vehicle

There are provided a cowl provided to support a front windshield in an inclined state where a rear side of the front windshield is located at a higher level than a front side of the front windshield and forming a lower edge of an opening portion for arranging the front windshield and a bonnet provided in front of and above the cowl. An upper portion of the cowl comprises a first face portion to which the front windshield adheres and an inclined second face portion which extends obliquely rearwardly-and-downwardly from the first face portion, and a front end of the first face portion is positioned on a rearward side, in a vehicle longitudinal direction, of a rear end of the bonnet.
