A system for managing wheel kinematics during a small overlap collision event includes a deflector apparatus. The deflector is configured to direct a wheel away from an occupant compartment of a vehicle. The deflector includes a first section arranged at an inside wall of a wheel well facing a wheel, near the base of a hinge-pillar. The first section includes a hollow structure configured to absorb energy from the collision event by plastically deforming. The deflector also includes a second section arranged at an angle to the wheel and configured to deflect the wheel laterally outwards from the vehicle away from an occupant compartment during the small overlap collision event. The deflector may be formed of extruded aluminum. The system may include an absorber arranged behind the first section and configured to further absorb energy from the collision event by plastically deforming.

ADJUSTABLE GLASS TRACK SYSTEMS FOR VEHICLES WITH FRAMELESS DOORS

This disclosure details exemplary adjustable glass track systems for vehicles. In some embodiments, the glass track systems may establish a continuous sealing plane relative to a glass pane of a frameless door. In other embodiments, the glass track systems may additionally establish a continuous sealing plane relative to a vehicle roof structure. Exemplary adjustable glass track systems may include, among other features, a tubular frame rail, a channel rail, appliques, and seals.

PERSONAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE

An automotive frame member includes a hat member and a closing plate, in which the hat member includes a top plate, two vertical walls, and two flanges, the two vertical walls are positioned between the top plate and the flanges, respectively, the two vertical walls face each other, the two flanges are respectively joined to the closing plate, each of the two vertical walls includes plural groove parts extending in a direction vertical to a longitudinal direction of the hat member, the groove part includes a bottom surface and two side surfaces, the two side surfaces face each other, the two side surfaces are positioned on both sides of the bottom surface, and a width a of the groove part and a depth b of the groove part in a cross section parallel to the top plate, and a height c of the vertical wall in a direction vertical to the top plate satisfy relations of 0.2≤a/c≤0.3 and 0.2≤b/c≤0.3.

Body structure for a vehicle

A body structure for a vehicle has at least one side door sill that is made up of a door sill outer part on the outer side of the vehicle and a door sill inner part on the inner side of the vehicle, in the vehicle transverse direction, which delimit a door sill cavity that extends in the vehicle longitudinal direction between a front closing profile that closes off the door sill cavity in the direction of the front wheel housing, and a rear closing profile that closes off the door sill cavity in the direction of the rear wheel housing, wherein a reinforcement element, designed as an insert part, which extends in the vehicle longitudinal direction and acts as a side collision reinforcement is situated in the door sill cavity, and wherein in the event of a head-on collision the reinforcement element is acted on by a collision force directed toward the rear of the vehicle, in particular with load on at least one connecting point at which the reinforcement element is connected to the door sill. According to the invention, to relieve load on the connecting point, the reinforcement element is spaced apart from the rear closing profile by a longitudinal clearance space. A jacking point sheet metal part extends in the vertical vehicle direction, transversely through the longitudinal clearance space, and, in a head-on collision, the jacking point sheet metal part acts as a longitudinal stop by means of which longitudinal shifting of the reinforcement element is prevented.
