HIGH STRENGTH 7XXX ALUMINUM ALLOYS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

Described herein are novel 7xxx series aluminum alloys. The alloys exhibit high strength. The alloys can be used in a variety of applications, including automotive, transportation, electronics, aerospace, and industrial applications. Also described herein are methods of making and processing the alloys. Further described herein are methods of producing a metal sheet, which include casting an aluminum alloy as described herein to form an ingot, homogenizing the ingot, hot rolling the ingot to produce a hot band, and cold rolling the hot band to a metal sheet of final gauge.

Lower vehicle body structure of vehicle

A lower vehicle body structure of the vehicle may include a side member extending in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle, disposed on both sides in a width direction of the vehicle and having a closed cross-section formed therein; a connecting member connected to the side member at a front or a rear based on front and rear directions of the vehicle and having a closed cross-section formed therein; and at least one pipe unit provided inside in the longitudinal direction of the side member or the connecting member to inflow a working fluid therein.

Platform trailer with reinforced neck

A platform trailer includes a neck reinforcement structure located in the neck region to provide for a reduced height in the neck region of the trailer to increase the cargo-carrying capacity of the trailer. The height in the neck region of the trailer is less than 30% of the height in the rest of the trailer. A fifth wheel plate includes a main portion secured to both the first and second beams of the trailer. The fifth wheel plate includes a bifurcated tail portion including a first tail portion connected to the first beam and a second tail portion connected to the second beam. A kingpin is connected to the fifth wheel plate and is adapted to be engaged by an associated tractor fifth wheel.

Highly rigid sheet for car body

The invention relates to a thin sheet metal for a reinforcing or structural part of a car body, consisting of an aluminum alloy. The invention also relates to the method for producing such a sheet metal and to the use of such a sheet metal for producing a reinforcing or structural part for a car body. The sheet metals according to the invention advantageously have a modulus of elasticity of at least 77 GPa.
