MOTOR VEHICLE CROSS-MEMBER EXTENDING BETWEEN TWO SHOCK ABSORBER CUPS
A strut cross-member of a motor vehicle includes a central part and two side ends. Each of the ends includes an interface for attachment to the body of the vehicle and an interface for attachment to shock absorber cups. The cross-member is made of cast aluminum.
Double-skin structure and method of manufacturing thereof
There is provided a double-skin structure in which it is possible to obtain an aesthetic improvement in addition to restricting an increase in the number of manufacturing steps. The structure includes a connection portion connecting together an end portion of a first projection portion of a first mold member and an end portion of a second projection portion of a second mold member; a cover plate that is provided between the first mold member and the second mold member, and that blocks an upper end side of a recessed portion bounded by a first rib, a second rib, the first projection portion, and the second projection portion; and a bonding portion that bonds the cover plate to the first mold member, and the cover plate to the second mold member.
Pickup box header and integrated toolbox assembly
A pickup truck box assembly including a header, a truck bed, an upper header rail, and a toolbox is provided. The truck bed has a forward end supporting the header, a rear end having a tailgate pivotally mounted thereto, and a pair of wheel wells disposed on opposing sides of the truck bed. The upper header rail may be secured at an upper portion of the header. The toolbox may include an extruded body defining a channel extending laterally a width of the truck bed. A lower surface of the body may be spaced from the truck bed a distance greater than a height of the wheel wells. First and second body side panels may be mounted to the truck bed and arranged with the toolbox to define sidewalls of the toolbox. The upper header rail and the toolbox may be formed by extrusion as a single component.
Side sill for a vehicle
A side sill for a vehicle includes: an inner portion facing an interior space of the vehicle; an outer portion facing an exterior space of the vehicle; and mounting hardware, which is riveted to one of the inner portion and the outer portion, wherein the inner portion and the outer portion form a unitary one-piece structure.
Universal platform for lightweight vehicle
A universal assembly platform for lightweight vehicles including a main vehicle chassis structure, a floorboard disposed over a top of the main vehicle chassis structure. The floorboard defines a floor surface of a lightweight vehicle that is subsequently assembled utilizing the universal assembly platform. The platform additionally includes at least one energy cell reservoir disposed below the floorboard. The at least one energy cell reservoir is structured and operable to retain at least one prime mover energy cell that will provide electrical energy to power an electric motor of the lightweight vehicle subsequently assembled utilizing the universal assembly platform.
Hybrid Component and Method for Manufacturing a Hybrid Component
A hybrid component comprising at least two component portions, which are connected via at least one connection portion, wherein: the at least one connection portion extends in a joining direction; a first component portion is formed from a first material which has a first modulus of elasticity; a second component portion is formed from a second material which has a second modulus of elasticity different from the first modulus of elasticity; and the at least one connection portion is designed at least to compensate for a sudden change in rigidity between the two component portions, the at least one connection portion having a rigidity that increases in the joining direction and in the direction of the component portion with the higher modulus of elasticity.
Vehicular body structural arrangements
A vehicular body structural arrangement includes a unitarily-formed polymeric bed box including a bulkhead panel, an elongate reinforcement including a spine, and a row of rivet nuts securing the reinforcement to the bulkhead panel in an unconcealed manner. The reinforcement is backed against the bulkhead panel from outside the bed box. The rivet nuts are installed to the bulkhead panel against the reinforcement facing inside the bed box.
Component for a motor vehicle, and method for manufacturing a component for a motor vehicle
A disclosed component for a motor vehicle includes a component main body, with at least one reinforcing element integrated in a component matrix of the component main body. The at least one reinforcing element may be fastened to the component main body. The component for a motor vehicle has a high component stability, is able to be manufactured with relatively low production costs and enables integration of functional components. The component includes the reinforcing element as a band with a plastics matrix and embedded unidirectionally oriented continuous fibers. A method for manufacturing such a component is also disclosed.
Load-bearing structural
Load-bearing structural component (1) in particular of a motor vehicle including a strut-dome (2) to hold the strut and an engine support (3) to fasten an engine wherein the load-bearing structural component (1) is formed in one-piece as a single part.
Rear crash safety profile
A rear impact system for an electric vehicle includes a left crash beam coupled with a rear portion of a rear wheel arch of the electric vehicle and extending to a rear bumper of the electric vehicle and a right crash beam coupled with the rear portion of the rear wheel arch and extending to the rear bumper. Each of the left crash beam and the right crash beam defines a generally octagonal shape. Each of the left crash beam and the right crash beam defines an interior comprising a plurality of ribs extending in a longitudinal direction.
