BONE POSITIONING GUIDE

A bone positioning guide may include a main body member, a shaft, and a bone engagement member. The shaft can be movably connected to the main body member and have the bone engagement member rotatably coupled to its distal end. The bone engagement member can have a surface configured to engage a bone. The main body member can also include a tip opposite the bone engagement member for engaging a second bone. In use, the bone engagement member may be positioned in contact with a medial side of a first metatarsal while the tip is positioned in contact with a lateral side of a different metatarsal, such as a second metatarsal. The shaft can then be moved to advance the bone engagement member toward the tip, causing realignment of the first metatarsal.

The shaft assembly is configured to actuate the end effector in response to movement of one or both of the rotary drive input or the linear drive input. The control module is configured to selectively actuate the rotary drive output or the linear drive output based on the type of end effector of the shaft assembly.

ABDOMINAL INSTRUMENT AND METHOD

A surgical instrument for placement of a movement restriction device for use in a surgical procedure for treating reflux disease in a patient. The instrument comprises a sleeve and a holding device configured to engage the movement restriction device, wherein the holding device is configured to be placed within the sleeve and be displaceable in relation to the sleeve. The instrument further comprises a first handling portion connected to the sleeve, and a second handling portion connected to the holding device. The handling of at least one of the first and second handling portion creates relative displacement of the holding device in relation to the sleeve, which disengages the holding device from the movement restriction device for performing the placement of the movement restriction device.

Surgical instrument

A tool comprises a distal portion and a proximal portion spaced apart by a shaft along a longitudinal axis. The distal portion includes a distal link and the proximal portion including a proximal link. The distal link and proximal link form a pair of links. The tool also comprises a set of tension load bearing members connecting the proximal link and the distal link and terminating at the links of the pair to transfer movement therebetween. The tool also comprises an articulation lock positioned between the distal portion and the proximal portion and configured to allow through passage of the set of tension load bearing members. The articulation lock is adjustable between an unlocked configuration in which the proximal and distal links are moveable and a locked configuration in which an effective length of the shaft is increased, creating a force to impede movement of the proximal and distal links.

STEERABLE MEDICAL DEVICE, HANDLE FOR A MEDICAL DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A MEDICAL DEVICE

A handle for a medical device includes a handle body and a knob that is rotatable with respect to the handle body. A first gear is associated with the knob. A slide assembly is housed within the handle body or the knob. The slide assembly includes a first lead screw. A second gear is associated with the slide assembly. A third gear is housed within the handle body or the knob and is coupled between the first gear and the second gear. Rotation of the knob drives rotation of the first gear, rotation of the first gear drives rotation of the third gear, rotation of the third gear drives rotation of the second gear, and rotation of the second gear drives rotation of the lead screw.

A sensing device for sensing one or more tissue properties includes an adapter assembly, an actuation assembly, a shuttle, and a piston assembly. The adapter assembly is configured to couple to surgical handheld devices. The actuation assembly extends distally from the adapter assembly and is configured to operably couple to and be engaged by handheld devices coupled thereto. The actuation assembly includes a first drive shaft and a second drive shaft. The shuttle has a clamp and a shuttle sensor, and is coupled to the first drive shaft via a coupling. The shuttle sensor is disposed on the clamp. The piston assembly is coupled to the second drive shaft and configured to compress target tissue between the piston assembly and the clamp of the shuttle.

Various exemplary devices, systems, and methods for knotless anchor inserter tool extraction are provided. In general, an inserter tool is configured for knotless anchor insertion in a soft tissue repair surgical procedure. The inserter tool is configured to insert an anchor into a bone of a patient to secure a soft tissue relative to the bone. The inserter tool includes a retraction mechanism configured to cause the inserter tool to be removed from within the anchor.

Redeploy able tissue retrieval system

A tissue retrieval system including a tissue retrieval bag deployable by an actuator from an introducer and suspended in an open configuration by support arms can be serially redeployed between a partially or fully stowed configuration and a first deployed configuration to be used in procedures to collect multiple samples. The system can include defeasible proximal and distal stop mechanisms to limit movement of the actuator for serial redeployment. The tissue retrieval system can include a retention latch to couple a bead of the tissue retrieval bag to the actuator with the retrieval bag in the first deployed position and a user-selectable deployment release to allow deployment of the retrieval bag to a fully deployed position where it is released from the actuator. A bead stop is positioned to engage the introducer to prevent reintroduction of the bead and bag into the introducer once the bag has been fully deployed.

Tissue retraction system

A tissue retraction system comprising a drive gear coupled to a shaft. The tissue retraction system includes a first plurality of linking members located along a second axis and configured to rotate along the second axis based on contact with the drive gear as the drive gear is rotated. The tissue retraction system includes a linking member selector configured to rotate along the first axis, wherein the linking member selector comprises a cylindrical body integrally formed with a handle. The tissue retraction system includes a right arm assembly configured to move along a first trajectory.
