HAND GRIP APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING OPERATOR INPUT IN A ROBOTIC SURGERY SYSTEM
A hand grip apparatus for receiving operator input includes a body having a proximal end and a distal interface end for coupling to an input apparatus. A first control lever is attached to the body and extends away from the proximal end and terminates in a finger grip for receiving one of the operator's fingers. A second control lever is attached to the body and extends away from the proximal end terminating in a thumb grip for receiving the operator's thumb. Movement of at least one of the control levers is operable to produce a first control signal representing the movement. An input control is included on the body between the grip ends and has an actuator surface angled towards the finger grip end and configured to produce a second control signal in response to actuation by one of the operator's fingers.
Ingress-Egress Apparatus For Protection of Surgical Field During Removal of Surgical Implants, and Related Methods
The disclosure relates to an ingress-egress apparatus for protection of a surgical work site during removal of a surgical implant therefrom. The apparatus includes an inverted frustum surface having a sidewall defining: a bottom open area at a base portion of the frustum surface sidewall, and an opposing top open area at a top portion of the frustum surface sidewall. The top open area has a larger area than the bottom open area. The apparatus includes an ingress port located at the base portion of the frustum surface sidewall and an egress port located at the base portion of the frustum surface sidewall. During surgical removal of the surgical implant using a surgical burr, the apparatus can be used to irrigate the work site, thereby cooling it and protecting it from damage, and further removing metal implant particles generated during burring.
SURGICAL CLIP APPLICATION DEVICE
A surgical clip application device for applying and crimping surgical clips to ligate a vessel.
ENDOSCOPIC CLOSURE DEVICE
A closure device with a fixed upper jaw and a pivoting lower jaw, and a hook like tooth extending from the upper jaw such that the upper jaw may be used to engage distal mucosa tissue and pull the tissue over a mucosal defect while engaging proximal tissue with the lower jaw. This configuration allowing the closure of mucosal defects that are wider than the jaw span of the closure device
Abdominal instrument and method
A surgical instrument (100) for placement of a movement restriction device (10) for use in a surgical procedure for treating reflux disease in a patient. The instrument comprises a sleeve (113) and a holding device (111) configured to engage the movement restriction device, wherein the holding device is configured to be placed within the sleeve and be displaceable in relation to the sleeve. The instrument further comprises a first handling portion (101) connected to the sleeve, and a second handling portion (102) connected to the holding device. The handling of at least one of the first and second handling portion creates relative displacement of the holding device in relation to the sleeve, which disengages the holding device from the movement restriction device for performing the placement of the movement restriction device.
Surgical devices with moisture control
A surgical device including a handle assembly, an elongated portion, at least one window, an end effector, and a shroud is disclosed. The at least one window extends through an outer wall of the elongated portion and is configured to allow fluid to travel therethrough from an interior portion of the elongated portion to ambient air. The end effector is configured to selectively engage a distal portion of the elongated portion. The shroud is affixed to the end effector and extends proximally therefrom. The shroud is configured to cover the at least one window when the end effector is engaged with the elongated portion.
Surgical guidance device
Briefly, the invention relates to a surgical tool and method for forming a pilot bore by inserting a guide wire into bone. The surgical tool is constructed and arranged for use in conjunction with X-ray or ultrasound machines. More particularly, the device includes a cannulated hand grip and driving tool used for the rotation of a bone or pedicle screw into bone. The rear portion of the hand grip includes a slide assembly that is suited to grip a guide wire. The slide assembly includes a user adjustable stop to control the sliding movement of the guide wire. The rear surface of the slide is constructed to be impacted with a hammer or similar device, whereby the stop prevents the guide wire from penetrating the bone further than desired. Should it be desired that the wire be retracted, a jack member is included to allow the wire to be precisely retracted. The hand grip is securable to various surgical driving tools for the purpose of providing the ability to cooperate with various brands of pedicle screws and other surgical implants for spinal procedures.
APPARATUSES FOR THE IMPLANTATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A medical device may include a shalt extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft may include a lumen therein. The medical device may include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the shaft and may include a mode selector. The mode selector may be adapted to transition between a first mode and a second mode of the medical device. The medical device may further include a compressed fluid source. In the first mode, the compressed fluid source may he coupled with the shaft so as to impart a negative pressure in at least a portion of the lumen. In the second mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a positive pressure in the at least a portion of the lumen.
ALIGNMENT DEVICE FOR A TIBIAL RESECTION GUIDE
An alignment device for a tibial resection guide includes a clamping device having at least two clamping elements acting against one another for clamping the distal end of a tibia of a patient. A contact device for contacting the proximal end of the tibia includes a tool guiding device for guiding a tool during the resection of the tibia. A telescopic device is separably connected to the contact device and adjustably connected to the clamping device. The telescopic device is designed to align the contact device and clamping device with respect to the tibia. The telescopic device has a decoupling device configured to separate the contact device from the telescopic device when activated. The clamping elements are designed such that the telescopic device can be removed from the tibia with one hand after the decoupling device is activated.
Exchanger surgical access port and methods of use
A surgical instrument access port assembly and method of use, the surgical instrument access port a surgical instrument has a needle lumen and a surgical access port. The needle lumen extends in a longitudinal direction and includes a needle tip at a distal end, and a body portion at a proximal end, the body portion having at least one recess or finger. The surgical access port has a cannula defining a hollow cannula shaft, and a tapered hub attached to a proximal end of the cannula. The tapered hub includes at least one inner ring configured to abut against the at least one recess or finger while the surgical instrument is inserted into the cannula of the surgical access port.
