MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device includes: a drive shaft that is rotatable; a drive unit that is connected to a proximal portion of the drive shaft and rotates the drive shaft; a housing that accommodates the proximal portion of the drive shaft; and a handle portion that accommodates the drive unit and the housing, in which the housing includes an accommodation portion that is provided therein, a shaft support that is disposed in the accommodation portion and has a lumen through which the proximal portion of the drive shaft is inserted, and an elastic body that is disposed between an outer peripheral surface of the shaft support and an inner peripheral surface of the accommodation portion, and since an outer diameter of the shaft support is smaller than an inner diameter of the accommodation portion, the shaft support is movable in the accommodation portion.
Universal clamp apparatus for bone fixation device
A universal clamp apparatus for orthopedic external fixators is disclosed. Preferably, the universal clamp apparatus has two pin/rod clamps, each having seating grooves for attaching to a frame rod associated with a frame of the fixator and/or a bone pin for implantation in a bone fragment. A clamp screw extends through and connects the first and second pin/rod clamps. An ergonomically designed knob having at least one collapsible or non-collapsible turn lever acts as a torque amplifier when rotated by hand without tools to tighten and untighten the pin/rod clamps to the frame rod and/or bone pin by movement along the clamp screw. The pin/rod clamps have planar sides that are contiguous and have radial ratchet grooves that are in mating engagement and provide a ratcheting mechanism so that the rotation of the pin/rod clamps relative to each other occurs in incremental rotational steps.
Lead extraction tool with lever and double action drive
A lead extraction tool includes a lever for enhanced mechanical advantage. A belt of the tool which causes rotation of a cutter on an end of a sheath can be driven both when a trigger of the handheld tool is squeezed and when the trigger is relaxed. A pair of winged engagers are carried upon a pedestal which moves with the trigger, with a driver coupled to a portion of the trigger causing a rear winged engager or a front winged engager to engage the belt, both when squeezing the trigger and when relaxing the trigger.
VERTEBRAL ENDPLATE SHAVER WITH HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE BLADES
A vertebral endplate preparation (decorticating) tool has height adjustable blades at a distal end of a shaft assembly for decorticating/shaving vertebral endplate material from spinal vertebrae, translates axial movement of a control rod of the shaft assembly of the vertebral endplate preparation tool with height adjustable blades into radial blade height change (extension and retraction) through a controller of a handle assembly. The blades may also be configured for collecting and removing shaved vertebral endplate material. The blades controllably move outward radially from the distal end of the shaft assembly and controllably move inward radially into the distal end of the shaft assembly upon manipulation of the controller. Radial blade extension and retraction from the distal end may be accomplished via mutual angled dovetail features of the blades and the distal end, or via pins of the distal end of the shaft assembly situated in angled slots of the blades.
Device for Aiding in the Positioning and Anchoring of an Endoscope During Gastrointestinal Procedures
A medical instrument having integrated arms extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a handpiece with actuators to control movement of the arms. The instrument includes an insertion tube having arm channel(s) for receiving an arm therethrough. Each arm includes an engagement member at the distal end of resilient material with a natural non-linear configuration when deployed but deforming when retracted into the arm channel when retracted. Arm channels may be located at different radial distances from one another in the insertion tube so the engagement members may be at radial angles relative to one another when deployed. Arms and engagement members are movable between at least a first position and second position relative to one another by rotation and/or translational motion of the corresponding actuator, to contact tissue or deflect a tool extended through the working channel of the endoscope.
SYSTEMS FOR FACILITATING GUIDED TELEOPERATION OF A NON-ROBOTIC DEVICE IN A SURGICAL SPACE
An exemplary system includes a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor may be configured to execute the instructions to obtain one or more parameters of a non-robotic device in a surgical space, the non-robotic device engaged by a computer-assisted surgical system; generate, based on at least the one or more parameters of the non-robotic device, guidance content for use by the computer-assisted surgical system to facilitate guided teleoperation of the non-robotic device; and provide the guidance content to the computer-assisted surgical system.
Hand grip apparatus for receiving operator input in a robotic surgery system
A hand grip apparatus for receiving operator input includes a body having a proximal end and a distal interface end for coupling to an input apparatus. A first control lever is attached to the body and extends away from the proximal end and terminates in a finger grip for receiving one of the operator's fingers. A second control lever is attached to the body and extends away from the proximal end terminating in a thumb grip for receiving the operator's thumb. Movement of at least one of the control levers is operable to produce a first control signal representing the movement. An input control is included on the body between the grip ends and has an actuator surface angled towards the finger grip end and configured to produce a second control signal in response to actuation by one of the operator's fingers.
Surgical Drain Device and Method of Use
A surgical drain including an introducer having a central axis, a proximal end, and a distal end. The proximal end disposed along the central axis and configured to couple to a drain. The distal end having a blunt distal tip and the introducer at least partially tapering from the proximal end to the distal end, wherein the introducer has a length of 30 cm or greater.
Nasal delivery tools, systems, and methods of use
A nasal implant delivery tool includes an inner handle, an outer handle, a needle, and a push rod. The inner handle includes a loading chamber configured to receive a nasal implant. The outer handle is configured to move axially relative to the inner handle. The needle extends distally from the inner handle and has a central lumen and a distal opening. The push rod is configured to move the nasal implant from the loading chamber, through the central lumen, and out the distal opening of the needle. The push rod is coupled to the outer handle such that the push rod moves axially relative to the inner handle when the outer handle is moved axially relative to the inner handle. Also described herein are nasal implant guides and methods of using nasal implant delivery tools and nasal implant guides.
Apparatuses for the implantation of medical devices and methods of use thereof
A medical device may include a shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft may include a lumen therein. The medical device may include a handle coupled to the proximal end of the shaft and may include a mode selector. The mode selector may be adapted to transition between a first mode and a second mode of the medical device. The medical device may further include a compressed fluid source. In the first mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a negative pressure in at least a portion of the lumen. In the second mode, the compressed fluid source may be fluidly coupled with the shaft so as to impart a positive pressure in the at least a portion of the lumen.
