System and Method for Transporting Suture
A suture transport system is disclosure for placing a flexible member along a tunnel, the system including a means of transporting a flexible member along a tunnel from a first opening in the tunnel through to a second opening at an opposite end of the tunnel, such that the flexible member extends from both the first and second opening. The system also includes a means of capturing a portion of the flexible member at the second opening, to inhibit the flexible member from retracting into the tunnel second opening. The means of capturing includes an aperture for capturing the portion of the flexible member.
ADHESIVE APPLICATOR
An adhesive applicator (1) comprises a receiver (3) having a tubular body with a closed first end (13) and an opposed second end (15), the tubular body having a deformable wall (11), an adhesive composition contained within the tubular body, and an applicator tip (5) mounted on the tubular body and comprising a foam material (7) having an applicator (7a-7c) external of the applicator (1) for applying said adhesive, the applicator being such that deformation of the tubular body causes the adhesive to be expressed through the applicator tip (5), The foam material is a reticulated foam felt (7) and allows for relatively constant flow of the adhesive through the foam felt and to the applicator surface thereof over a wide range of viscosity conditions of the adhesive and pressure applied to the deformable body of the applicator (1).
Nasal Delivery Tools, Systems, and Methods of Use
A nasal implant delivery tool includes an inner handle, an outer handle, a needle, and a push rod. The inner handle includes a loading chamber configured to receive a nasal implant. The outer handle is configured to move axially relative to the inner handle. The needle extends distally from the inner handle and has a central lumen and a distal opening. The push rod is configured to move the nasal implant from the loading chamber, through the central lumen, and out the distal opening of the needle. The push rod is coupled to the outer handle such that the push rod moves axially relative to the inner handle when the outer handle is moved axially relative to the inner handle. Also described herein are nasal implant guides and methods of using nasal implant delivery tools and nasal implant guides.
Circular stapling device and method of use
A circular stapling device is described that is particularly suited for creating stomas. The circular stapling device includes two tool assemblies. The first tool assembly is adapted to create a reinforced incision in tissue, e.g., the rectus sheath, through which a vessel portion, e.g., colon, small intestine, etc. can be pulled through during a surgical procedure. The second tool assembly is adapted to attach a stomal sleeve within the vessel portion such that the stomal sleeve extends from the stoma.
Magnetic coupling and method for calibrating a robotic system
An apparatus for calibration of a robotic arm having an end effector of a robot includes a magnetic coupler having a body, a receiving face, a mounting member, and a magnetic portion. The mounting member is configured to fixedly connect to the end effector of the robotic arm. A mechanical digitizer probe having a ball and a handle are provided, where the ball is fixedly attached to a distal end of the handle and the ball is removably coupled to the magnetic coupler via the magnetic portion on the receiving face to form a rotatable ball and socket connection, and where a proximal end of the handle is adapted to be attached to a mechanical digitizer associated with the robot. A method for calibration of the robotic arm of a robot is also detailed.
Multi-portal surgical systems, cannulas, and related technologies
A multi-portal method for treating a subject's spine includes distracting adjacent vertebrae using a distraction instrument positioned at a first entrance along the subject to enlarge an intervertebral space between the adjacent vertebrae. An interbody fusion implant can be delivered into the enlarged intervertebral space. The interbody fusion implant can be positioned directly between vertebral bodies of the adjacent vertebrae while endoscopically viewing the interbody fusion implant using an endoscopic instrument. The patient's spine can be visualized using endoscopic techniques to view, for example, the spine, tissue, instruments, and implants before, during, and after implantation, or the like. The visualization can help a physician throughout the surgical procedure to improve patient outcome.
ENDOSCOPIC NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle and suture assembly is provided for use with an endoscopic suturing device with a needle holder arm. The needle assembly includes a needle tip and a needle body. The needle tip has a sharp end. The needle body is tubular and has first and second ends and flexible tab retainers adjacent the second end for retaining the needle body relative to the needle holder arm. The tab retainers elastically deform to allow the needle body to be released from the needle holder arm upon application of force therebetween. The needle body has a suture opening located between the first end and the retainers. A suture extends into the suture opening of the needle body and is fixed therein.
Retrieval devices and related methods of use
A retrieval device may have a contracted state and an expanded state. The retrieval device may include a sheath and at least three support members. Each of the support members may have a first portion with a first cross-sectional shape and a second portion with a second cross-sectional shape different from the first cross-sectional shape. A proximal end fixed of each of the support members may be coupled to the sheath, and a distal end may be movable relative to the sheath. The retrieval device may further include at least three movable members movable relative to the support members. Each movable member may extend through a lumen of one support member of the at least three support members and through a lumen of a different support member of the at least three support members.
Polyaxial pivot housing for external fixation system
A polyaxial pivot housing for an external fixation system, comprising a collet body having a threaded portion; a spherical member configured to be partially received by a cavity that is formed in the collet body, the spherical member having a threaded post that is configured to attach to a support member of an external fixation frame; and a threaded locking collar that is configured to orientationally lock the threaded post with respect to the external fixation frame by compressing the spherical member into the cavity as the threaded locking collar is mated with the threaded portion of the collet body.
DRILL GUIDE WITH ADJUSTABLE STOP
Drill guides and related methods are disclosed herein, e.g., for use in surgical procedures. In some embodiments, a drill guide can include an adjustment mechanism that permits one-handed adjustment of the guide depth and does not require that the drill guide be removed from the patient or that the drill be removed from the drill guide when making an adjustment. The adjustment mechanism can include a trigger that moves first and second detents into and out of engagement with a guide stem to allow step-wise adjustment of the guide depth.
