Motorcycle Control Pads
20170101146 · 2017-04-13 ·

A control pad system for a motorcycle has a substantially U-shaped saddle-like unit having a horizontally-disposed upper portion adapted to engage a frame of a motorcycle beneath a seat of the motorcycle, with downward-extending first and second opposite side portions, disposed on each side of the motorcycle frame with the upper portion engaged to the motorcycle frame, and two control pads fashioned from resilient rubber-like material, each having a length, a height and a thickness, one each of the control pads mounted to each of the first and second opposite side portions, such that an outer surface of each control pad is presented outwardly from the motorcycle frame on each side portion. The control pads are positioned in a manner to enable the rider to grip the control pads between the knees, constraining the rider's position forward and rearward on the motorcycle.

Human-Propellable Vehicle
20170088231 · 2017-03-30 ·

A human-propellable vehicle (1) is described which comprises a chassis (2), and a rear wheel assembly (5) mounted to a rear portion of the chassis. The rear wheel assembly comprises a double wishbone suspension assembly, each wishbone (14, 22) of the double wishbone suspension assembly being coupled to the chassis at first and second coupling points, the second coupling point for each wishbone being closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone. By using a double wishbone set up at the rear of the bike it is possible to control weight transfer more efficiently. By providing a second coupling point for each wishbone which is closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone, it is possible to utilise a setup without having to adopt a higher seating position and without having to increase the rear wheel track beyond an acceptable width.

BICYCLE SADDLE

A bicycle saddle includes: a base structure having a top portion; and a cushion coupled to the top portion of the base structure, the cushion including a first lateral side and a second lateral side separated by a longitudinal plane, wherein each of the first lateral side and the second lateral side includes: a first region having a first stiffness; a second region having a second stiffness that is less than the first stiffness; and a third region having a third stiffness that is less than the second stiffness, wherein a perimeter of the second region is at least 75% enclosed within the first region, and wherein a perimeter of the third region is at least 75% enclosed within the second region.

Process for manufacturing a bicycle saddle

This disclosure is directed to the manufacturing of bicycle saddles. For instance, in some examples, a process to manufacture a bicycle saddle provides a central through channel as well as a hull with a through hole, a polyurethane layer as a padding element, and a liner adapted to cover the polyurethane layer. The process allows for the manufacturing of bicycle saddles that have various significant advantages over prior art bicycle saddles, including advantages from both an aesthetic and functional point of view of a user.

Tipless Saddle with Pelvic Support Arrangement

A tipless saddle with pelvic support arrangement includes a saddle body, a rigid bottom base and a rail frame. The saddle body has a front pelvic support portion, a concave central recess extending from a rear end of the saddle body to the front pelvic support portion, and two buttock support surfaces gradually and symmetrically extended sidewardly and upwardly from two longitudinal sides of the central recess respectively, wherein the two buttock support surfaces have two curved retention surfaces inclinedly and upwardly extended to two tips of two sides of the saddle body respectively and symmetrically, wherein the front pelvic support portion and two front portions of the two buttock support surfaces integrally form a pelvic support arrangement of the tipless saddle. The rigid bottom base is coupled to an underside of the saddle body and the rail frame is secured to the bottom shell for mounting a saddle clamp.

In an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a seat assembly for a motorcycle is provided. The seat assembly has a forward end and a rear end. The seat assembly including a seating surface; and a cantilevered seat support including a mount portion and a cantilevered portion, the cantilevered seat support providing for coupling to a frame of the motorcycle such that a rear end of the seat support is spaced apart from the frame and exclusively coupled to the frame via the mount portion at the forward end of the seat assembly, the cantilevered portion including a first length extending from the mount portion to the rear end. The seating surface is supported by the cantilevered seat support such that greater than 50% of the length of the cantilevered portion is obscured from view when viewed in a lateral plan view.

Moldable bicycle saddles, external saddle heaters, fitting procedures, and related technologies

A bicycle saddle can be customized to a rider's body to achieve desired support and comfort. The support shell is configured to support a rider's body and can be heated by an external heater and/or at least one internal thermal element operable to heat the bicycle saddle such that the saddle is molded to the rider. A molding indicator in thermal contact with the saddle measures a molding factor, such as temperature or deflection, and visually indicates the measured molding factor for molding the bicycle saddle.

The present disclosure relates to the technical field of bicycles and discloses a bike saddle, which comprises a base. The base is provided with an elongate hole that serves a ventilating function. A first plastic case and a second plastic case are symmetrically arranged on the top surface of the base. The first plastic case and the second plastic case are provided with a first foam sleeve and a second foam sleeve respectively for increasing the contact area. The area formed by the first foam sleeve and the second foam sleeve in this disclosure is significantly larger, far exceeding that in the prior art, thereby increasing the contact area between the user and the saddle. Even after prolonged use, this reduces the likelihood of the user experiencing soreness.
