Bicycle saddle

A bicycle saddle includes: a base structure having a top portion; and a cushion coupled to the top portion of the base structure, the cushion including a first lateral side and a second lateral side separated by a longitudinal plane, wherein each of the first lateral side and the second lateral side includes: a first region having a first stiffness; a second region having a second stiffness that is less than the first stiffness; and a third region having a third stiffness that is less than the second stiffness, wherein a perimeter of the second region is at least 75% enclosed within the first region, and wherein a perimeter of the third region is at least 75% enclosed within the second region.

PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A BICYCLE SADDLE

The invention regards a process for manufacturing a bicycle saddle, which provides a central through channel as well as a hull with a through hole (4′); a polyurethane layer and a liner.

By means of this process it is possible to make sure that, unlike the saddles of the state of the art, said central through channel is completely devoid of the edge present around the aforementioned, with significant advantages from both an aesthetic and functional point of view for the user.

A saddle for bicycles has a body and a frame for supporting the body. The body has at least one slot at least partly extending in the rear portion of the body defining a right rear portion and a left rear portion of the saddle. The frame has a first branch and a second branch configured to be removably connected, respectively, to the right rear portion and to the left rear portion of the body passing from a first connecting configuration to a second connecting configuration, and vice versa. A bridge element that connects the first branch and the second branch is configured for removably coupling to the body to define a first distance and a second distance between the right rear portion and the left rear portion of the body. The first distance and the second distance correspond, respectively, to the first connecting configuration and the second configuration.

A shell for a bicycle saddle has a groove opened through top and bottom surfaces thereof, a narrow anterior portion having a front edge, and a wide posterior portion having a rear edge and divided by an imaginary longitudinal axis passing through the front and rear edges and the groove into left and right regions where two sockets are located, respectively. The groove has a longitudinal section extending along the axis, and a transverse section extending from a rear end of the longitudinal section to the left and right regions so as to form two elastic wings adjacent to the groove. Each socket has a connecting sheet and an insertion block and extends from rear and lateral edges of the wide posterior portion to a position under the bottom surface to form a space therebetween. As a result, the shell has great elasticity and structural strength.

An adult tricycle has a front frame and a rear frame that are pivotally connected together and a suspension for minimizing shock as the tricycle is driven over a surface. The suspension includes a shock absorbing element having a leading end that is pivotally connected with the front frame and a trailing end that is pivotally connected with the rear frame. The tricycle has a front wheel with a diameter that is bigger than the diameters of the rear wheels and a seat that sits higher than the diameter of the front wheel. The adult sized tricycle enables parents to ride cycles with small children and provides a safe, stable cycle for mature adults and senior citizens.

A bicycle seat can include an attachment structure configured to be secured to a bicycle frame. The seat can also include a support frame, which can include right and left arms extending laterally out on opposite sides of a vertically-oriented medial plane of the bicycle seat. The seat can include walls, which can include a front wall and a rear wall that extend up and laterally out from the attachment structure to support the right and left arms. Right and left seat pads can be selectively securable to the right and left arms, and can be adjusted between different positions relative to each other. Each seat pad can include a main pad portion that is secured to the corresponding arm and is configured to provide upward support to a corresponding ischium (sometimes referred to as the sit bone) of the rider, and an elongate extension that can extend laterally out and forward beyond the main pad portion.
