FLUID ACTUATION OF INSTRUMENTS THROUGH A STERILE BARRIER
A robotic surgical system includes a fluid drive system and a surgical instrument removably positioned in operative engagement with the drive system. A sterile barrier covers non-sterile portions of the surgical system. Features of the sterile barrier are used to transfer motion output from the fluid drive system to the instrument for actuation of the instrument.
Insertable endoscopic instrument for tissue removal
An improved flexible endoscopic instrument to precisely and efficiently obtains samples of flat polyps and multiple polyps from a patient by debriding one or more polyps and retrieving the debrided polyps without having to alternate between using a separate cutting tool and a separate sample retrieving tool and may be used with an endoscope. In one aspect, the cutting tool is coupled to a flexible torque coil or torque rope that is configured to transfer rotational energy from a powered actuator through the length of the endoscope onto the cutting tool.
Surgical instruments
Articulation joints for use in connection with a surgical instrument that has a portion that must be passed through a trocar or similar structure and then articulated relative to another portion of the instrument received within the trocar. Various embodiments of the articulation joint include at least one flexible driven member to articulate the surgical implement relative to the handle assembly of the instrument.
Medical securing device for securing an object with a securing member
A medical securing device for securing an object with a securing member into a tissue comprises an elongated sheath comprising proximal and distal ends, and a securing member introduction device having proximal and distal ends, said distal end being configured to extend from the sheath. The medical securing device comprises also a guiding trail. At least one point of the securing member introduction device is configured to travel along said first guiding trail and thereby control a defined movement of the distal end of said securing member introduction device when extending from the sheath and so to introduce the securing member to the object and to secure said object to the tissue with the securing member.
LIGATION DEVICE
A ligation device includes a cylindrical inner cylinder having a distal end portion, a slider having a cylindrical shape, attached around the inner cylinder, movable with respect to the inner cylinder along an axial direction of the inner cylinder, and having annular grooves extending along a circumferential direction on an inner peripheral face, and ligation rings attached around the inner cylinder and located in the annular grooves.
PNEUMATIC OR HYDRAULIC POWERED TISSUE CLOSURE DEVICES
The present disclosure relates generally to systems, medical devices, and methods for closing an opening in a target tissue using hydraulics and/or pneumatics. In some embodiments, a medical device may include an endoscopic device operable to close an opening in a target tissue, and an actuator operable with the endoscopic device, wherein the actuator includes a piston within a chamber. The piston may include a piston head engaged with an interior surface of the chamber, and a piston rod coupled to a tissue engagement component of the endoscopic device, wherein pressure from a fluid within the chamber actuates the tissue engagement component.
Base Station, Charging Station, and/or Server for Robotic Catheter Systems and Other Uses, and Improved Articulated Devices and Systems
Articulation devices, systems, methods for articulation, and methods for fabricating articulation structures will often include simple balloon arrays, with inflation of the balloons interacting with elongate skeletal support structures so as to locally alter articulation of the skeleton. The skeleton may comprise a simple helical coil or interlocking helical channels, and the array can be used to locally deflect or elongate an axis of the coil under control of a processor. Liquid inflation fluid may be directed so as to pressurize the balloons from an inflation fluid canister, and may vaporize within a plenum or the channels or balloons of the articulation system, with the inflation system preferably including valves controlled by the processor. The articulation structures can be employed in minimally invasive medical catheter systems, and also for industrial robotics, for supporting imaging systems, for entertainment and consumer products, and the like.
SURGICAL STAPLER, SURGICAL STAPLE ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR APPROXIMATION OF MUSCULAR OR APONEUROTIC STRUCTURES
The present invention describes a surgical stapler, a surgical staple arrangement and a method for approximate of muscular or aponeurotic structures. More precisely, the surgical staple comprises stapling structures associated to an alignment structure, in one of its embodiments the stapling structures holds at least a staple arrangement, approximating it rectilinearly clamping the staple arrangement, the surgical staple arrangement comprises a male and a female portion comprising a plurality of clamping structures that associate to each other and the method discloses steps for approximating muscular or aponeurotic structures and keep them together by the usage of and staple arrangement. The present invention is situated in the field of medical science, medical device and surgical stapler.
ADJUSTABLE RETAINING ARM SYSTEM
Disclosed adjustable retaining arm systems can include a multi-segmented, articulable arm that holds one or more interchangeable tools and can be made relaxed to set a desired position and made rigid to fix the desired position by adjusting tension in a cable running through the arm. The arm can quickly attach and detach from a support structure. The support structure include a cable tensioning system, sensors, control system, power system, etc. A user input device, such as a foot pedal or button on the arm, can be used by a surgeon to change the arm between relaxed and rigid states. The arm and attachable tools can be detachable, disposable and/or sterilizable, while other system components can remain mounted in a fixed location as the arm is removed and replaced. The arm can hold multiple tools in any desired orientation around subject work location.
LIGATION DEVICE
A ligation device includes a main body and a first ligation ring. The main body has a cylindrical shape. The main body is configured to be attached to an endoscope and to be located on a distal end portion of the endoscope. The main body includes a distal end portion configured to project from a distal end of the endoscope in a longitudinal direction of the main body and includes a first fluid feeding passage with a first opening that opens on a distal end face or an outer peripheral face of the distal end portion of the main body. The first ligation ring is attached to the distal end portion of the main body so as to obstruct the first opening.
