Needle and guide apparatus for passing suture
11471152 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A trocar wound closure system includes a suture passing needle and a guide for directing the needle through the wound site. A distal portion of the needle includes a capture rod with a slot. An obturator tube with a cutout section can be axially actuated to align the cutout section with the slot, and then moved out of alignment so as to capture the suture. The guide includes at least two tracks for directing the needle through the tissue track. A suture catcher is located adjacent to the exit of each track and configured to be actuated from a radially extended configuration to a retracted configuration so as to capture the suture section inserted through each loop. Radially expandable arms at distal section are movable between an expanded configuration and a slender configuration.

Sealing device and delivery system

The invention relates to a sealing device for repair of cardiac and vascular defects or tissue opening such as a patent foramen ovale (PFO) or shunt in the heart, the vascular system, etc. and particularly provides an occluder device and trans-catheter occluder delivery system. The sealing device would have improved conformity to heart anatomy and be easily deployed, repositioned, and retrieved at the opening site.

A closure system includes a catheter having an internal diameter D1 [mm]; and a closure device to be delivered to the hole or duct in the tissue through the catheter. The closure device includes: a first plate including a first center part, and a first extension part extending around the first center part and containing a resin having elastic restorability; and a waist part connected to the first center part. The first extension part has a thickness A1 [mm]. The waist part has a maximum dimension T1 [mm] in a plan view. The internal diameter D1 of the catheter is larger than 2×A1+T1.

Insertable catheter device for patch application

An insertable catheter device includes a shaft including a proximal end and a distal end, an expandable balloon, and an actuator configured to expand and retract the expandable balloon. The actuator includes a fluid conduit that extends through the shaft and is coupled with the expandable balloon to enable inflation and retraction of the expandable balloon via injection or withdrawal of a fluid to or from the expandable balloon via the fluid conduit. The expandable balloon is displaceably retractable into the shaft and extendable from the shaft. A fluid pump is coupled with the fluid conduit to pump the fluid through the fluid conduit. A patch is positioned to be displaced by the expandable balloon when the expandable balloon is inflated, and the expandable balloon is displaceably retractable into the shaft and displaceably extendable from the shaft.

Micrograft for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and method for use

A device for occluding a vasculature of a patient including a micrograft having an absorbent polymeric structure with a lumen of transporting blood. The micrograft has a series of peaks and valleys formed by crimping. The occluding device is sufficiently small and flexible to be tracked on a guidewire and/or pushed through a microcatheter to a site within the vasculature of the patient. Delivery systems for delivering the micrografts are also disclosed.

DETECTION AND PRESSURE RELIEF FOR PERCUTANEOUS CLOSURE OF A VESSEL

A pressure relief device for use in a percutaneous procedure, the device comprising a tube having a distal opening into an internal lumen and a proximal opening from the internal lumen, a length of the tube sized to position the distal opening near a closed arteriotomy in a vessel and the proximal opening remains external to a patient’s skin. Related devices, kits, and methods are provided.

Tissue anchors, systems and methods, and devices

Systems, devices and methods for securing tissue including the annulus of a mitral valve. The systems, devices and methods may employ catheter based techniques and devices to plicate tissue and perform an annuloplasty.

INSTRUMENT AND METHODS FOR SURGICALLY CLOSING PERCUTANEOUS PUNCTURES

Methods for sealing a percutaneous puncture in a wall of a body passageway are disclosed herein. The methods include inserting a deployment instrument into the puncture via a toggle along the guidewire, and actuating the deployment instrument to move the first component and the second component relative to each other such that the toggle abuts the wall of the artery proximate the puncture to seal the puncture.
