A control pad system for a motorcycle has a substantially U-shaped saddle-like unit having a horizontally-disposed upper portion adapted to engage a frame of a motorcycle beneath a seat of the motorcycle, with downward-extending first and second opposite side portions, disposed on each side of the motorcycle frame with the upper portion engaged to the motorcycle frame, and two control pads fashioned from resilient rubber-like material, each having a length, a height and a thickness, one each of the control pads mounted to each of the first and second opposite side portions, such that an outer surface of each control pad is presented outwardly from the motorcycle frame on each side portion. The control pads are positioned in a manner to enable the rider to grip the control pads between the knees, constraining the rider's position forward and rearward on the motorcycle.

A body is formed by integrally joining, at the center in the vehicle width direction, body half bodies divided into two in the vehicle width direction, a body flange to be placed on and welded to a bottom, is formed on the entire outer circumferential edge of the body, a rear part (specifically, a rear lateral welding portion side) of a side part (lateral welding portion side) of the body flange protrudes inward in the vehicle width direction toward the obliquely lower direction, and a part of the side part other than the rear part (specifically, a front lateral welding portion side) of the body flange protrudes inward in the vehicle width direction toward the obliquely upper direction.

Motorcycle

A motorcycle includes a side cowl that covers a motorcycle body from an outside in a motorcycle width direction, and a cowl cover that partially covers the side cowl from the outside in the motorcycle width direction and is smaller than the side cowl. The cowl cover protrudes outward in the motorcycle width direction from the side cowl in a region in a height direction, in which the cowl cover is attached.

A tunnel portion extending along a front-rear direction of the vehicle and provided between the inner side cowl member and the outer side cowl member. The tunnel portion has a front opening that introduces traveling wind when the vehicle travels into the tunnel portion and a rear opening that leads the traveling wind in the tunnel portion toward the knee contact member.
