COLPOTOMY SYSTEM FOR TOTAL LAPAROSCOPIC HYSTERECTOMY
20210030489 · 2021-02-04 ·

A colpotomy system includes a surgical instrument having a cutting element and a receiver at a distal end thereof and a uterine instrument. The uterine instrument has a handle operably coupled to a shaft having a balloon at a distal end thereof, the shaft extending through a retaining member to access a surgical site, the retaining member including a plurality of transmitters for transmitting at least one signal. A distance between the cutting element of the surgical instrument and one end of the retaining member of the uterine instrument is calculated to determine whether the cutting element is within a predetermined operating zone.

Intervertebral dosing device and method

Some embodiments of the invention include a cannulated bone screw including a screw shaft with screw thread, a proximal end, a distal end, and a channel extending through the screw shaft. Some embodiments include an inlet port coupled to the channel and extending through the distal end, and an outlet port coupled to the channel by a curved or angled channel region. In some embodiments, the outlet port extends through the screw shaft and exits a side that is substantially parallel to the shaft longitudinal axis. In some embodiments, the cannulated bone screw can form part of a therapy delivery device. In some embodiments, the outlet port extends through a portion of the screw shaft and exits at the distal end. In some embodiments, the valve includes a plunger with a plunger rod within the screw shaft, and a valve seat for control of fluid flow out of the screw.

Method of bladder augmentation with modified ileal segment and biologically compatible tissue

A method of augmenting a bladder including incising a native bladder to form an incised native bladder, implanting a tissue flap, which includes a bladder-expansion portion connected to a tubular portion; and suturing the bladder-expansion portion to an edge of the incised native bladder. The method forms an augmented bladder with a volume capacity that is 100%-250% larger than a volume capacity of the native bladder. The tissue flap may be a modified ileal segment or a biologically compatible tissue flap. The biologically compatible tissue flap having a biocompatible scaffold which includes a collagen mesh, which is coated by a biochemical factor, a cell derived matrix, and/or a synthetic biocompatible polymer. The biologically compatible tissue flap is configured with the bladder-expansion portion and a tubular portion.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTED BONE SUPPORTED SINUS GUIDE FOR EDENTULOUS MAXILLARY ARCH

An accurate and precise surgical guide for dental procedures, especially a procedure involving a subject with few or no teeth as well as methods for making and use of such guides.

PERCUTANEOUS LATERAL RECESS RESECTION METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS

The present disclosure is directed to devices, kits, and methods for treating lumbar spinal stenosis by at least partially decompressing a compressed nerve root. The method can include identifying the compressed nerve root and percutaneously accessing a region of a lamina located adjacent to the compressed nerve root. The method can also include forming a channel through the region of the lamina, wherein the channel can be formed medial to a lateral border of the lamina. Further, the method can include expanding the channel in a lateral direction.

TISSUE TENSIONING DEVICE FOR CARDIAC VALVE REPAIR

The present disclosure describes interventional devices, systems, and methods for closing a regurgitant gap in a cardiac valve. Interventional devices are configured to be deployed between two previously placed implants or between a previously placed implant and a valve commissure. The interventional devices compress captured leaflet tissue and/or apply a tensioning force along the line of coaptation to assist in closing the gap and reducing regurgitant flow through the gap.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPLANTING ELECTRODE ARRAY IN A BIOLOGICAL ORGAN
20240016517 · 2024-01-18 ·

Presented is a system and method for implanting a flexible electrode array in a biological organ. The system includes an electrode implant tool that includes an elongate rod and an electrode implant assembly having a plurality of attachment members. The electrode implant assembly further includes a ring member connected to each of the attachment members. A variable magnetic field generator is arranged in the ring member. The system uses electromagnetic force to temporarily strengthen the flexible electrodes allowing the penetration into the brain

Surgical stapler with curved outer surface on anvil

A surgical instrument and method of manipulating colon tissue of a patient includes a body having a firing mechanism, a shaft assembly, and an end effector operatively connected to the firing mechanism via the shaft assembly. The end effector is configured to receive a cartridge selectively actuated by the selective manipulation of the firing mechanism. A distal end portion of the end effector includes a first end, a second end laterally opposite the first end, and a distal crest laterally positioned between the first and second ends that projects distally beyond the first and second ends. The distal end portion also includes an arcuate distal surface extending along the distal with a radius of curvature configured to be received against the pelvic bowl of the patient to position the end effector relative to colon tissue for manipulating the colon tissue with the cartridge.
