DYNAMICALLY BALANCED IN-LINE WHEEL VEHICLE
A family of vehicles is presented which exploit dynamic controls to stabilize in-line two wheeled vehicles. The stabilization results in improved safety at high speeds and on uncooperative surfaces. Stabilization affords balance at zero speed without auxiliary support means. Transformational wheel base length affords high visibility at low speeds and low drag at high speeds. In wheel chair configurations transforming wheel base length allows navigation up and down stairs.
Vehicle drivable in use by a person walking or running whilst seated and the use of such vehicle
The invention provides a vehicle drivable in use by a person walking or running while seated comprising: a frame; a large diameter front wheel non-steerable with respect to the frame, a seat for supporting a user's weight while walking or running, the frame configured to carry the seat suspended on the front wheel, a small diameter, steerable rear wheel journalled to the frame at a steering pivot axis, the seat being rotatable forwardly with respect to the front wheel and comprising a seat base for supporting a user and further comprising a backrest for engaging the user's back in use. The large front wheel may be of approximate diameter of a user's leg (typically an adult human), thus the large front wheel may be of similar size to a bicycle wheel for the user.
Universal Footrest for One-Legged Operation of a Stationary Bicycle
Various embodiments for an apparatus and method for use of a footrest device with a stationary bicycle are provided. A footrest device includes a forward foundation, a rear foundation, one or more posts that extends in a horizontal direction, wherein at least one end of the one or more posts is coupled to either the forward foundation or the rear foundation. The footrest device includes a platform configured to function as a footrest, and one or more support shafts that extend in a vertical direction upwardly from the one or more posts. A method for using the footrest device includes placing one foot on a platform of the footrest device, placing a second foot on a pedal on the opposite side of the stationary bicycle, and pedaling the pedal of the stationary bicycle with the second foot while the first foot is located on the platform of the footrest device.
