CLIP FOR ENDOSCOPE

A clip for gripping tissue can having a first arm with a first claw at a distal end of the first arm, and second arm, with a second claw at a distal end of the second arm, in which the first arm and second arm are configured to move in a direction toward each other to close the clip. The clips include one or more anchors on the arms of the clip which protrude in a direction other than the direction that the first arm and second arm are configured to move toward each other to close the clip. Such anchors can more readily attach to tissue of a patient upon contact than clips without an anchor.

ENDOSCOPIC TIP EXTENDER

An endoscopic medical apparatus can include an endoscope tip extender such as can be configured to extend longitudinally axially from a distal portion of an endoscope in a tapered arrangement. The tip extender can define a bore such as extending longitudinally axially within the tip extender. The tip extender can include a material that can be at least one of softer or more flexible than a material of the distal portion of the endoscope.

Layer arrangements for surgical staple cartridges

A piece of buttress material and an end-effector of a surgical instrument including features which can aid a surgeon in properly and quickly attaching the piece of buttress material to the end-effector. In various embodiments, a piece of buttress material can include retention features which can be engaged with portions of an end-effector to releasably retain the piece of buttress material to at least a portion of the end-effector. Similarly, an end-effector can include features configured to engage portions of a piece of buttress material to releasably retain the piece of buttress material to the end-effector. In at least one embodiment, more than one piece of buttress material can be releasably retained to an end-effector.
