Control device for robot system
A control device of a robot system including a plurality of robots having servo motors of a plurality of axes. The control device includes a plurality of controllers each having a plurality of servo amplifiers that drives the servo motors of the plurality of axes of the robots, and a control unit that controls the plurality of servo amplifiers. The control unit determines a driving number of the servo motors of the plurality of axes in accordance with the robots connected to the controllers, and sets a parameter for the servo amplifiers that drive the axes of the servo motors of a number corresponding to the determined driving number.
ELECTROSURGICAL ENERGY ADAPTER, ELECTROSURGICAL ENERGY CONTROL, AND SURGICAL MULTI-TOOL
An electrosurgical system including an electrosurgical generator and an adapter connected to the electrosurgical generator. The adapter is configured to selectively transmit one or more energy outputs from the electrosurgical generator to an end effect device. At least one of the electrosurgical generator and the adapter are configured to be controlled by one or more control device. An electrosurgical system can include a control device connected to an electrosurgical generator. The control device can be configured to selectively transmit control instructions to the electrosurgical generator. The control device can be configured to receive a control signal from a user. An electrosurgical apparatus can include a pair of blades configured to deliver at least mechanical and electrical energy to tissue. Each blade can include a portion configured to protrude to the other side of a central plane. An electrosurgical apparatus can include a first tip comprising a first tip central plane and a second tip comprising a second tip central plane, wherein the electrosurgical apparatus has a first configuration wherein the first and second tips operate as forceps, and wherein the electrosurgical apparatus has a second configuration wherein the first and second tips operate as scissors. The electrosurgical apparatus can have restricted movement in the forceps configuration and limited shearing movement in the scissors configuration.
Footswitch for Controlling Surgical Instruments and Related Accessories
A surgical footswitch for controlling a surgical instrument. The surgical footswitch includes a base. A treadle is rotatably coupled to the base to operate the surgical instrument. A foot guard is also rotatably coupled to the base. A blocking portion of the foot guard is configured to prevent physical access to the treadle in a lateral direction in a first position and permit access to the treadle in a lateral direction in a second position. A floor engagement portion of the foot guard engages a floor surface when the blocking portion is in the first position. The floor engagement portion is spaced from the floor surface when the blocking portion is in the second position. The floor engagement portion permits physical access to the treadle in a longitudinal direction when the blocking portion is in both the first position and the second position.
Systems and methods for onscreen menus in a teleoperational medical system
A method comprises displaying an image of a field of view of a surgical environment. A first medical instrument in the field of view may be coupled to a first manipulator in a teleoperational assembly. The method may comprise displaying a menu proximate to an image of the first medical instrument in the image of the field of view. The menu may include a plurality of icons wherein each icon is associated with a function for the first medical instrument. The method may also comprise identifying a selected icon from the plurality of icons based upon a movement of an operator control device of a teleoperational operator control system.
Surgical footswitch having elevated auxiliary buttons
A surgical footswitch having elevated auxiliary buttons is provided. In particular embodiments, the surgical footswitch comprises a footswitch base, a treadle mounted on the footswitch base, a first primary button positioned on an upper surface of the footswitch base along a first lateral side of the treadle, a first auxiliary button housing positioned along a lateral side of the first primary button opposite the treadle, and a first auxiliary button mounted on an upper surface of the first auxiliary button housing, wherein an upper surface of the first auxiliary button is elevated in relation to an upper surface of the first primary button. In particular embodiments, the treadle is configured to activate a first function of a surgical console, the first primary button is configured to activate a second function of the surgical console, and the first auxiliary button is configured to activate a third function of the surgical console.
Surgical object tracking template generation for computer assisted navigation during surgical procedure
A camera tracking system for computer assisted navigation during surgery. The camera tracking system includes a processor operative to receive streams of video frames from tracking cameras which image a plurality of physical objects arranged as a reference array. For each of the physical objects imaged in a sequence of the video frames, that processor determines a set of coordinates for the physical object over the sequence of the video frames. For each of the physical objects, the processor generates an arithmetic combination of the set of coordinates for the physical object. The processor generates an array template identifying coordinates of the physical objects based on the arithmetic combinations of the sets of coordinates for the physical objects, and tracks pose of the physical objects of the reference array over time based on comparison of the array template to the reference array imaged in the streams of video frames.
COMBINATION TREATMENT USING ELT
A method of treating a subject having glaucoma comprises performing excimer laser trabeculostomy (ELT) on a subject having glaucoma and having previously undergone a failed treatment or a treatment that has been rendered ineffective by progression of the disease. In some examples, the failed treatment is a non-surgical treatment comprising administering medicated eye drops. In some examples, the failed treatment is a laser treatment or surgical treatment, such as a trabeculoplasty, iridotomy, iridectomy, trabeculectomy, trabeculotomy, goniotomy, surgical insertion of a shunt or implant, deep sclerectomy, viscocanalostomy, or a combination thereof.
TATTOO REMOVAL USING IRRADIATION AND FLUID EXTRACTION
Methods and systems are disclosed for removing a tattoo from a subject's skin by application of radiation to a target region of a subject's tattooed dermis, mobilization of tattoo ink particles, and extraction of the tattoo ink particles from the tattooed dermis. In certain embodiments, the invention can further include induction of a plasma, e.g., a cold atmospheric plasma, at the target region to assist in the degradation, dislodgement and/or mobilization of the tattoo ink particles.
WEARABLE FOOT CONTROLLER FOR SURGICAL EQUIPMENT AND RELATED METHODS
A wearable foot controller for a surgical instrument may include a body configured to be worn on a foot and including a heel portion and a ball portion on an opposite end of the body from the heel portion, a heel pressure sensor, a ball pressure sensor, a heel movement sensor, a ball movement sensor, and a processor. The processor may be configured to detect activation of the heel pressure sensor and generate control data for the surgical instrument based upon the ball movement sensor when the heel pressure sensor is activated using the processor, and detect activation of the ball pressure sensor and generate control data for the surgical instrument based upon the heel movement sensor when the ball pressure sensor is activated using the processor. The processor may also be configured to communicate the control data from the processor to the surgical instrument via a communications link.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING DENTAL MACHINES
