METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF GALLSTONES
There is provided a method for controlling the movement of bile and/or gall stones in the biliary duct. The method comprises gently constricting (i.e., without substantially hampering the blood circulation in the tissue wall) at least one portion of the tissue wall to influence the movement of bile and/or gallstones in the biliary duct, and stimulating the constricted wall portion to cause contraction of the wall portion to further influence the movement of bile and/or gallstones in the biliary duct. The method can be used for restricting or stopping the movement of bile and/or gallstones in the biliary duct, or for actively moving the fluid in the biliary duct, with a low risk of injuring the biliary duct.
EXTERNAL HAND CONTROL FOR SURGICAL POWER TOOL
A control device for a surgical power tool. The control device including a housing, an input element located on the housing, and a control unit. The housing configured to couple to a surgical power tool. The input element located proximate the top of the housing and configured to receive a user input. The control unit located within the housing, where the control unit sends user input information received at the input element to the surgical power tool.
FETAL VACUUM EXTRACTOR HAVING COMPACT, VERSATILE CONTROL HANDLE AND RELATED METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
A vacuum extractor for use in childbirth includes a vacuum cup and a handle coupled to the vacuum cup. The handle includes a grip member and a pump member movably mounted on the grip member. The pump member is configured to be manually moved relative to the grip member by a user between a first position and a second position to generate a vacuum within the vacuum cup when the vacuum cup is disposed on the head of a fetus. The grip member includes a first laterally extending member and a second laterally extending member, which are separated from one another in a longitudinal direction. The user can grip either the first laterally extending member or the second laterally extending member while pushing the pump member toward the grip member to move the pump member from the first position to the second position during use of the vacuum extractor.
ELECTRODE AND CATHETER DESIGN FOR DIRECTIONAL LITHOTRIPSY CATHETERS
The present disclosure provides a catheter for treating lesions in a body lumen, such as calcified lesions and occlusions in vasculature. When a voltage is applied across the conductive elements, current flows across an arcing region, from one electrode element to another, to produce shock waves and cavitation bubbles. As a treatment continues, the conductive elements slowly erode at the arcing region where current flows between the electrodes. To increase the lifespan of the electrode assembly, the distal edges of the conductive elements may be shaped to promote erosion of the sheaths in a predetermined or semi-controlled pattern.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR GENERATING SHOCK WAVES IN A FORWARD DIRECTION
An exemplary catheter for use in a body lumen comprises: a catheter body; and a plurality of shock wave emitters disposed at a distal end of the catheter body, each shock wave emitter configured to generate a shock wave that propagates distally of the catheter body, wherein the plurality of shock wave emitters are arrayed about a longitudinal axis of the catheter body such that shock waves emitted from the plurality of shock wave emitters can constructively interfere distally of the catheter body, and wherein each shock wave emitter comprises electrodes separated by a spark gap and at least one electrical connector that connects at least one of the electrodes to an electrode of another shock wave emitter of the plurality of shock wave emitters.
Wireless arrays for surgical staplers
The present disclosure provides a circular stapler. The circular stapler includes a stapling head assembly, an anvil detachably attachable to the stapling head assembly, and a handle assembly. The handle assembly includes a handle controller, a connector, and handle transceiver configured to wirelessly transmit a first signal to an external hub. The handle transceiver is separated from the handle controller and is in electrical communication with the handle controller via the connector.

Suturing Device
A suturing device is adapted for sewing two tubular objects together, and includes a suturing aid rod, a plurality of sewing subunits, and two pushing subunits. The suturing aid rod has two carrying portions that are opposite to each other in a first direction. Each of the sewing subunits includes a suture thread, and two suture needles that are respectively connected to two opposite ends of the suture thread. Each of the pushing subunits is slidable relative to a respective one of the carrying portions between an initial position and a puncture position. When the pushing subunits are in the puncture position, one of the suture needles of each of the sewing subunits is adapted to puncture one of the tubular objects, and the other one of the suture needles of each of the sewing subunits is adapted to puncture the other one of the tubular objects.
LOCKING FERRULES WITH CLEATING FEATURES FOR PERFORMING TENSIONABLE KNOTLESS SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Systems and methods are provided for performing tensionable knotless surgical procedures. A suture locking device that includes a one-way locking mechanism may be utilized for tensioning and locking one or more strands of suture during the surgical procedure. The one-way locking mechanism may be established by one or more locking barbs of the suture locking device.
DOUBLE BARREL LOCKING FERRULES FOR PERFORMING TENSIONABLE KNOTLESS SURGICAL PROCEDURES
