A system loads an endoscopic needle into an endoscopic suturing device. The system includes a loading tool having a handle portion configured to be manipulated by a medical professional. The system also includes a needle cover coupling portion configured to removably couple with a needle cover. The needle cover is configured to couple with a delivery housing. The needle cover is further configured to secure a needle within a needle track of the delivery housing when coupled with the delivery housing. The loading tool is configured to couple the needle cover with the delivery housing. The loading tool is further configured to uncouple the needle cover from the delivery housing.

APPARATUS FOR APPROXIMATING SUTURES IN CARDIAC PROCEDURES

Described herein are devices for approximating targeted tissue by intertwining two or more sutures together. The sutures are attached to the targeted tissue and routed to a twister device. The twister device secures end portions of the sutures and twists them to intertwine the sutures. Controlling the number of twists provides control over the forces applied to the targeted tissue. In conjunction with visualization feedback, real-time adjustments can be made to achieved targeted results, such as elimination of mitral regurgitation when the disclosed methods and apparatus are applied to mitral valve repair.

Apparatus and Method for Passing Suture Through Soft Tissue
20220387018 · 2022-12-08 ·

A system for passing suture through biological tissue using a cannula, introducer or other minimally invasive means, to approximate, ligate, fixate, and/or close biological tissue. The system includes a hand actuator mechanism, an elongated tubular member housing a deformable tubular needle therein in operative communication with the hand actuator mechanism, and a jaw mechanism disposed on the tubular member distal end. The jaw mechanism having top and bottom members and a floating pivot mechanism, the top and bottom members in operative communication with the floating pivot mechanism. The floating pivot mechanism providing pivotal and axial articulation of the top member with respect to the bottom member.

Flexible implant with adjustable coils

Devices and methods for securing a graft with respect to bone are provided. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical implant includes a flexible filament body and a suture filament or repair construct that extends through the filament body at multiple locations. The repair construct is formed into one or more coils, which can receive a graft. The flexible filament body can be configured to be actuated between unstressed and anchoring configurations, the latter of which sets a location of the suture filament, and associated graft, in a bone tunnel. More particularly, the flexible filament body can ball up, or become denser, to a size that cannot pass into the bone tunnel in which the suture filament holding the graft is disposed. The present disclosure also provides for feedback units to assist a surgeon in knowing a location of the implant. Further, other exemplary devices and methods are provided.

Knotless instability anchor

A knotless instability anchor having an anchor having a first side and a second side with a suture material passing therethrough from the first side to the second side. The suture material has an adjustable loop extending from the first side of the anchor and a first limb and a second limb extending from the second side of the anchor. A splice is formed in the first limb between a first end of the first limb and the anchor. A self-collapsing loop is formed in the first limb between the first end and the splice. The second limb extends through the splice in the first limb.

Surgical tool and method of use

A surgical tool incorporates a suture guide with and ananchor driver supporting an anchor where the anchor is maintained at a distance from the suture guide until release of a detent mechanism. Thereafter, the anchor is allowed to move into proximity to the suture guide, fixing a suture supported by the suture guide to a substrate, the entire procedure being achievable with a single hand.

Graft preparation system

A graft preparation system includes a fixation implant including a strand of suture wrapped around a graft preparation card. A tenaculum includes a first arm having a first tooth and a second arm having a second tooth that are pivotally connected at a pivot. The first arm includes a slot between the first tooth and the pivot that receives the graft preparation card. A tape suture assembly includes a tape suture and a first suture strand. The tape suture is positioned on a graft, and the tape suture is attached to the graft with a stitch formed with the first suture strand.

SELF KNOTTING SUTURING INSTRUMENT

An aspect of the present disclosure provides a suturing instrument comprising: a plurality of hollow tubes; at least two stitching arms coupled to first end of the plurality of hollow tubes, the at least two stitching arms capable of moving between an open position and a closed position, wherein in the open position the at least two stitching arms are away from each other, and in the closed position the at least two arms are closer to each other; a needle coupled to at least one of the at least two stitching arms, wherein a suture is looped through the needle to enable suturing when the both arms are moved to the closed position; and a handle comprising at least two members coupled to a second end of the plurality of hollow tubes such that first member of the at least two members is fixed and a second member is movably coupled to the first member, wherein when the at least two members are closer the at least two stitching arms are in closed position, and when the at least two handles are moved away the at least two arms move from the closed position to the open position.

TENSIONABLE AND LOCKABLE SOFT SUTURE ANCHORS AND ANCHOR ARRAYS FOR ANATOMICAL ATTACHMENT OF SOFT TISSUE TO BONE

Soft suture anchors are disclosed that can be formed into a pre-strung array with a common working suture. Each anchor includes the common working suture and a soft anchor member that is expandable when implanted. This allows first locking an individual anchor into a bone hole followed by tensioning the suture and independently locking the suture at the anchor. A first anchor is implanted through the tendon and the suture is locked. A second anchor is implanted a selected close distance from the first anchor, the working suture is tensioned between the first and second anchors, and the working suture is locked at the second anchor to create a single suture tensioned and locked stitch between the first and second anchor. This process is repeated for each anchor in the array.
