OVER THE SCOPE CLIP WITH COMPLIANT MECHANISM
A clipping system includes an adapter and a clip. The adapter is mounted over a distal end of an insertion device to a distal end and has a first annular groove formed in a distal face of the adapter. The clip has a body; a central body having a coupling portion and a ring; and jaws having outer arms coupled to the body at an outer arm proximal end and inner arms disposed radially inward of the outer arms and coupled to the ring at an inner arm proximal end. The body includes an annular protrusion extending proximally from a proximal surface of the body. The protrusion is inserted into the first groove of the adapter to couple the clip to the adapter. Movement of the central body along an axis of the clip causes movement of the jaws between an insertion configuration and a deployment configuration.
INTERFACE MECHANISM FOR REPOSITIONING AND DEPLOYMENT OF OVER THE SCOPE CLIP
A system for treating tissue includes a cap mounted over a distal end of an endoscope, a clip mountable over the cap and including first and second jaws movably connected to one another between an insertion configuration, in which the first and second jaws extend over the cap to receive a target tissue therebetween, a review configuration, in which at least a portion of the clip extends into a field of view of the optical system of an endoscope, and a deployed configuration in which the clip is moved distally off of the cap so that the first and second jaws are drawn toward one another. A control element is configured so that movement proximally through the cap via a first distance moves the clip from the insertion configuration to the review configuration and a second distance moves the clip from the review configuration to the deployed configuration.
Bio-Zipper Surgical Closure Device
The present invention relates to bio-zipper surgical closure devices configured to provide tension-free support of an incision throughout the healing process. Further, the present invention provides a surgical closure device to be used for urethral tubular closure during a urethroplasty. The present invention relates to methods of using the surgical closure device for the closure of various wounds such as urethral tubular closure during a urethroplasty.
Hemostatic clipping devices and methods
A tissue clipping apparatus, comprises a flexible, elongate member, a proximal end of which remains external to the body accessible to a user while a distal end of the flexible member is inserted into the body to a location adjacent to target tissue to be clipped and a control wire extending through the flexible member in combination with a capsule releasably coupled to a distal end of the flexible member and a clip a proximal portion of which is received within the capsule. A joint releasably coupling the clip to the control wire, includes a yoke extending around a proximal end of the clip and a frangible link which fails when subject to a predetermined force to separate the clip from the control wire.
SIDEWAYS OR TANGENTIALLY APPLICABLE SURGICAL CLIP FOR BLEEDING CONTROL
A surgical clip that includes two leg sections arranged substantially parallel to each other, two straight sections respectively attached to the two leg sections at an angle to the two leg sections, and a curved section connecting the two straight sections at ends opposite to the two leg sections used to place the clip tangentially on blood vessels.
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Device Having Helical Elements
A device is configured for use in negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). The device includes a tube having a tube proximal end and a tube distal end and A coil having a plurality of windings extending from a coil proximal end to a coil distal end. The coil distal end is coupled to the tube proximal end in a manner that enables application of a negative pressure from within the coil through the coil to tissue surrounding the coil. The coil comprises a space between adjacent ones of the plurality of windings, the space having a predetermined dimension.
Surgical clip for laparoscopic procedures
A surgical clip for a clip applier to ligate vessels. The clip contains two opposing legs connected in parallel by an apex to form a U-shape. Each leg has an outer surface with a half-round cross-sectional configuration for minimizing tissue damage by preventing clip scissoring during ligation. Each leg has an inner surface with a flat central surface, two concave grooves on opposing sides of the central surface, and two convex ridges on opposing sides of each groove. As a vessel is ligated, vessel tissue moves into the concave grooves while remaining frictionally engaged by the compressive forces applied by the central surfaces and convex ridges of leg so that the clip does not move on the vessel. The edges of the grooves and the edges of the ridges of each leg are rounded to prevent any cutting of the ligated vessel.
SKIN MORPHING AND TENSION DISTRIBUTING SYSTEM FOR EXTERNAL FIXATION AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Kits and systems are disclosed that include one or more segments of elastically deformable membrane in combination with one or more external fixation members and optionally in combination with one or more tension protector pads. Also disclosed are methods of use of the kits and systems in methods that involve stretching the elastically deformable membrane and applying the stretched membrane to the skin of a patient, and releasing the tension on the membrane, thus causing compression of the skin to which the membrane is applied. The method may further include the optional steps of inserting one or more external fixation members through the membrane/skin combination and into a bone segment, applying a distraction force to the one or more external fixation members, and adjusting one or more segments of membrane to affect skin tension at a rate that is similar to a rate at which the distraction force is applied.
ADHESIVE PAD AND HEMOSTASIS SYSTEM
An adhesive pad for use with a hemostasis device comprising a footplate having a top surface and a receiving device positioned on the footplate, the adhesive pad comprising: (1) a flexible backing layer having a bottom surface, a central portion having an opening, a first side portion, and a second side portion; (2) an adhesive layer applied to the bottom surface of the backing layer; and (3) a release layer removably secured to the adhesive layer. The opening in the central portion of the backing layer is sized to fit the receiving device of the hemostasis device, and the adhesive layer applied to the bottom surface of the first and second side portions of the backing layer is configured to adhere to and extend beyond the top surface of the footplate.
METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS FOR TREATING OBESITY
The invention relates surgical abdominal methods of treating obesity in a patient by implanting a volume filling device that, when implanted in a patient, reduces the food cavity in size by a volume substantially exceeding the volume of the volume filling device. Also disclosed is a laparoscopic instrument for providing a volume filling device to be invaginated in the stomach wall of a human patient to treat obesity.
