Water Diverter for Outboard Marine Motors
20190176933 · 2019-06-13 ·

A water diverter for outboard marine motors is presented. In one embodiment, the water diverter is adapted to be secured to a transom bracket which includes a portion adapted to be mounted on a boat transom. The water diverter includes a body and a bracket. The body has a horizontal deflection plate with a triangular shape. Two vertical deflection plates extend upward along the edges of the horizontal deflection plate. The bracket includes a horizontal mounting surface having a triangular shape. Two vertical attachment walls extend downward along the sides of the horizontal mounting surface. The bracket is sized to fit within the body with alignment of attachment openings of the vertical deflection plates and attachment holes of the vertical attachment walls determining a fastener-based selectively adjustable vertical displacement between the horizontal deflection plate and the horizontal mounting surface.

The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. The apparatus includes a base and a blade. The blade is equipped with a mount structure that attaches the base to the blade. The blade can be reversibly mountable to the base such that either face of the blade faces a desired direction. The apparatus provides tool-free adjustment between a first configuration in which the base is mounted to the blade and a second configuration in which the base and the blade are separated. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. Additionally, the apparatus can be inflatable. The invention further provides a deployable lanyard assembly and a splash deflector for use with the apparatus.

Backspray mitigation system for yachts

A superstructure-integrated backspray mitigation system for yachts including an aft spoiler secured to the vessels hardtop for directing airflow about the hardtop downwardly into the aft cockpit area to interfere with, mitigate and eliminate the natural reverse backspray created by the low-pressure region behind the yacht. The spoiler protrudes from the hardtop and includes at least one air ducting channel directing airflow at select angles into the cockpit area presenting a protective shield preventing the backspray from entering the cockpit. An optional pivotal panel member selectively enables operation of the spoiler.

MARINE VESSEL COMPRISING A PLANING HULL

The present disclosure is directed towards a marine vessel comprising a bow section, a stern section, a centreline and a planing hull. The planing hull comprises a vee bottom section extending along the centreline from the stern section to the bow section and a pair of retainer walls extending from the stern section towards the bow section along either side of the vee bottom section. Each retainer wall extends downwardly parallel to, or at an acute angle to, the centreline. The vee bottom section is configured to, in use, direct water outwardly from the centreline towards the retainer walls. The retainer walls are configured to downwardly direct said outwardly directed water for providing lift to the marine vessel.

PONTOON BOAT WITH ELEVATED FRONT WAVE GUARD

A pontoon boat includes first and second pontoons on the port and starboard sides of the boat and a main deck attached to the top of the pontoons. A front wave deflector extends forwards and upwards from the front of the main deck at an angle. The front wave deflector is held above the water and does not contact the water while the pontoon boat is floating in or moving through calm water. The front wave deflector contacts the tops of waves when the pontoon boat is navigating rough water and pushes the water beneath the pontoon boat deck. This allows the pontoon boat to navigate rough water without loss of momentum and without excessive up and down pitching.
