VARIABLE USE PONTOON BOAT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A pontoon boat assembly includes at least two outer pontoon floats and at least one center pontoon float. A deck is supported above the floats. A propulsion system in the preferred form of a V-drive with a rear-facing propeller is provided for moving the pontoon boat across a body of water and causing wakes to trail behind the pontoon float in the path of the pontoon floats. At least one wake panel is supported off a stern end of at least one of the outer pontoon floats and is slideable to a lowered position for selectively engaging the body of water and altering the trailing wake to shape the wake. At least one hydrofoil is engagable with the body of water for drawing the stern end of the boat downwardly during propulsion of the pontoon boat to increase the size of the shaped wake.

WATERCRAFT
A watercraft, in particular a SWATH-type yacht is intended to have improved and greater functional properties. To this end, the watercraft, in particular a SWATH-type yacht, has upper works that receive a structure, and on the underside thereof, i.e. the wet deck, two stilts, i.e. partial hulls are arranged which are spaced apart from one another transversely in the direction of travel. Each partial hull is positioned on a submerged hull which is arranged substantially in the direction of travel of the watercraft and extends over at least part of the upper works. The submerged hulls have characteristic narrowed portions in cross section, which portions are formed on the longitudinal extension of swimmer profiles of the partial hull.
Boat having an improved ability to get on plane and improved method of getting a boat on plane
A boat includes at least three trim devices positioned aft of the boat's transom. To improve the boat's ability to get on place, each trim device is initially positioned to a deployed position. The speed of the boat is then determined as the boat gains speed. When the speed of the boat exceeds a first predetermined threshold, the first trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a second predetermined threshold, the second trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. When the speed of the boat exceeds a third predetermined threshold, the third trim device is moved from the deployed position to a non-deployed position. At least one of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds is different from the other two of the first, second, and third predetermined thresholds.

Watercraft lifting fin
A pontoon for providing buoyant force to a floating craft comprises a barrel having front and rear ends and a fin extending outwardly from an outer surface of the barrel. The fin includes a first portion and a second portion positioned rearwardly of the first portion. The first portion extends at least generally parallel with or coincident with a lateral, horizontally extending centerline of the barrel. In order to enhance stability, improve handling, and/or inhibit motor cavitation, the second portion is inclined downwardly and rearwardly relative to the rear end of the first portion. Also disclosed is a pontoon boat fitted with fins on the pontoons and/or on the transom.

Motile buoyancy device including non-Newtonian material
A motile buoyancy apparatus for use in a fluid. The motile buoyancy apparatus includes an outer layer, the outer layer having a performance surface. The motile buoyancy apparatus includes at least a portion including a first material. The first material is a non-Newtonian material. The at least a portion causes the performance surface to exhibit a shear rate-variable shear response.
