WAKE SHAPING APPARATUS AND RELATED TECHNOLOGY
The invention provides an apparatus that attaches to a hull of a boat to disrupt water flow around the hull such that a wake created behind the boat is larger, differently positioned, and/or differently shaped. In some embodiments, the apparatus is removably attached to the hull by one or more suction cups. The wake shaping apparatus can include a blade and be configured such that an angular orientation of the blade is adjustable. In certain embodiments, the wake shaping apparatus is inflatable.

METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING FLUID DRAG
A novel mechanism for reducing boundary layer friction and inhibiting the effects of uncontrolled fluid turbulence and turbulent layer separation, thus reducing the body drag, kinetic energy losses and lowering engine and pump fuel consumption is proposed. It steps on the type of turbulence observed in the so-called in fluid dynamics “drag crisis”. Plurality of device shapes and plurality of devices producing the wanted pure form of even plurality of counter-rotating vortices extending into the flow, i.e. tubes, are presented and discussed in detail, contrasting with the prior art. Configurations of multiple devices for the purposes of drag and fuel reduction, including their simulations and experimental results are put forward. Additional embodiments of the resulting tubes disclose use on aircraft or vessel control surfaces as stall inhibitors, use in wind turbines as dynamic range extenders, as well as use in turbines in efficient cooling mechanisms.
Flow modification device having helical strakes and a system and method for modifying flow
A flow modification device connectable to a generally cylindrical element adapted for immersion in a fluid medium is provided. The device comprises an elongate body having a length and a generally circular cross-section; a plurality of raised body portions disposed about and extending along the length of the elongate body, the raised body portions having a height between 2% and 10% of a diameter of the body; and an aperture extending through the length of the elongate body, the aperture being adapted to receive the generally cylindrical element such that the flow modification device is arranged about the cylindrical element. The plurality of raised body portions are helically arranged or twisted about a longitudinal axis of the elongate body and are adapted to reduce vortex-induced vibration and/or drag on the cylindrical element when the device is connected to the cylindrical element and the connected device and cylindrical element are immersed in the fluid medium and there is relative movement between the connected device and cylindrical element and the fluid medium.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a vessel includes: a hull 100 provided with a propellant 140; a deck 200 spaced apart from the hull 100; and a support 300 between the hull 100 and the deck 200, the support 300 configured to support 300 the deck 200 with respect to the hull 100, wherein the hull 100 is disposed below a water surface during operation, and the deck 200 is supported by the support 300 to be disposed above the water surface during operation.
WATER FLOW DEFLECTION DEVICE FOR A WATERCRAFT AND METHODS OF USE
A water flow deflection device attached to a side of a watercraft to enhance the watercraft's wake. The device having a narrow, elongated base with two ends and a base width, the base aligned along the side of the watercraft when the device is attached to the watercraft. A deflector attached to the base between the two ends and having a face spanning between a leading end and an opposing end, the leading end extending outwardly from the base. The deflector face having a surface area configured to deflect water and a deflector width greater than the base width. The base removably attachable to the watercraft by a plurality of suction cup assemblies, wherein a greater number of suction cup assemblies located between the first end and the leading end of the deflector than between the second end and the leading end of the deflector.
WATER FLOW DEFLECTION DEVICE FOR A WATERCRAFT AND METHODS OF USE
A water flow deflection device attached to a side of a watercraft to enhance the watercraft's wake. The device having a narrow, elongated base with two ends and a base width, the base aligned along the side of the watercraft when the device is attached to the watercraft. A deflector attached to the base between the two ends and having a face spanning between a leading end and an opposing end, the leading end extending outwardly from the base. The deflector face having a surface area configured to deflect water and a deflector width greater than the base width. The base removably attachable to the watercraft by a plurality of suction cup assemblies, wherein a greater number of suction cup assemblies located between the first end and the leading end of the deflector than between the second end and the leading end of the deflector.

An alternating Open Chamber Cavity for employing a very useful safe and controllable new lifting plus lubricating hydrodynamic force for effectively improving marine transportation in a seaway, I named SAFELY CONTROLLED, AUTOMATED WATER DISSECTED LUBRICATION AND LIFT FORCE, has been discovered and innovated for use by myself; and I have also invented the automated mechanism I named “FLEXIBLE POWER-FINS”, for controlling the safe exploitation of this beneficial natural phenomenon, as well as innovated a way to significantly improve the turning capabilities of a watercraft in motion.
Vehicle configuration with motors that rotate between a lifting position and a thrusting position
This disclosure describes a configuration of an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) that will facilitate extended flight duration. The UAV may have any number of lifting motors. For example, the UAV may include four lifting motors (also known as a quad-copter), eight lifting motors (also known as an octo-copter), etc. Likewise, to improve the efficiency of horizontal flight, the UAV also includes a pivot assembly that may rotate about an axis from a lifting position to a thrusting position. The pivot assembly may include two or more offset motors that generate a differential force that will cause the pivot assembly to rotate between the lifting position and the thrusting position without the need for any additional motors or gears.
