Portable sailboat mast hoist system and method of use
A mast righting assistance assembly includes a trailer hitch extension subassembly includes a trailer hitch extension insert and a trailer hitch extension receiver tube extending opposite directions, a winch subassembly carried by the trailer hitch extension subassembly, and a vertical column carried by the trailer hitch extension subassembly. A winch cable is routed from a winch drum through a cable redirecting component attached to a top of the vertical column. The cable is secured to rigging of the mast for controlling stepping and unstepping of the mast. The winch spools and unspools the cable to step and unstep the mast respectively. The vertical column is adjustable in height to obtain a desirable minimum force application angle respective to stowed mast.
WIND GENERATOR
A wind generator for sailboats including a mast (A) provided with crosstrees (C), including: at least one wind generator (1) provided with a distribution of blades (2) arranged to rotate integrally with a shaft (6) of axis (a) in response to receiving a wind flow in an active direction (v) incident to the blades distribution; an electric generator (3) operatively connected to the generator (1) for converting the rotation of the blades (2) into electricity, comprising structure (22, 41) for fixing the generator (1) to a crosstree (C), and with the blades (2) being movable from an open operating position (P1) of maximum incidence of wind flow (F) to a closed non-operating position (P2) of minimum obstruction.
SAIL
A nestable wing sail having two or more sections. Where one section is configured to nest inside the first section, and can move out of the first section to extend the effective sail area of the wing sail.
MAST FOR A MARINE OR SUBMARINE VESSEL
Disclosed is a mast intended to equip a marine or submarine vessel. The mast includes a metal structure extending along an axis and a fairing arranged externally to the structure in a direction normal to the axis. The fairing is removably assembled to the structure.
Hydrofoiling sailboat
A multihull sailing vessel includes at least two buoyant hulls extending along their longitudinal axes, with the hulls being connected to each other and a first hydrofoil connected to the hulls and oriented transverse to the hulls. The first hydrofoil is movably coupled to the hulls between a first position above a resting waterline of the hulls and a second position below a lowest extent of the hulls. When the first hydrofoil is in the second position, a configuration of the first hydrofoil is adjustable to vary an amount of lifting force generated by the first hydrofoil when the hulls move forward through water when the first hydrofoil is in the second position.
RIGID SAIL FOR VESSELS, IN PARTICULAR LARGE SHIPS, AND VESSEL WITH A RIGID SAIL
In order to provide a rigid sail or aerofoil sail which has a lower overall weight, is cost-effective to manufacture and does not affect the passing under bridges, power lines or similar structures arranged over busy waters, in the case of a rigid sail for vessels, in particular, for large ships, such as bulk carriers, tankers, car transporters or bulkers, comprising a mast and a first aerofoil wing body mounted on the mast with a base and a head, wherein the mast is inserted through the base into the first aerofoil wing body and is arranged within the first aerofoil wing body, it is proposed that the mast, starting from the base, does not extend beyond a maximum height of the first aerofoil wing body, in particular, less than 75% of the maximum height.
WIND-PROPELLED BOAT HAVING PARALLEL SELF-RIGHTING PAIRED MASTS FOR WIND-ASSISTED PROPULSION FOR BOATS
A wind-propelled vessel is described herein. The vessel includes at least one hull and at least one set of paired masts. Each paired mast of the at least one set of paired masts has a first mast located to one side of the vessel and a second mast located on the opposite side of the vessel. Also, each mast of the at least one set of paired masts has a spar located at or near the top of the mast. Moreover, each one of the spar located at or near the top of the mast extends inwards towards a center plane of the vessel, and an inward end of the spar is connected by a connector to another inward end of another one of the each one of the spar located at or near the top of the mast. In accordance with the illustrative examples provided herein, the connector imparts a dynamic force upon connected spars that responsively pulls the connected ones of the inward ends of the spars to their nearest position when tops of the masts to which the spars are fixably attached move away from a relative nearest position to a paired one of one set of paired masts.
Mast-head Rigging Connection Device
One embodiment of a mast-head standing rigging connection device, allowing for sail module rotation about a mast axis, is disclosed. The embodiment allows for connection of shrouds and conventional single mast forestay and backstay rigging systems. Additional embodiments, utilizing modifications of the first embodiment, for multi-mast and triangular fore-aft sail mast roller reef-furl systems, are described.
Sailing vessel
A keel canting mechanism for a sailing vessel having a hull, a keel and a mast is disclosed. The mechanism comprises a worm gear co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the vessel about which the keel rotates during a canting movement. There is a double enveloping worm in mesh with the worm gear and means for driving the worm. The worm gear is fast with the keel and, when rotated by the worm, displaces the keel through a canting movement. The gear has a plurality of holes in it into which pins can be inserted to lock the gear, and hence the keel, in the position to which it has been moved by the worm.
SAIL CONSTRUCTION
Sail construction comprising foldable sail supports (2), a crossbeam (3), a holder (1.1), a sail (1), a bottom holder (4), ropes (4.3) and a bolt and tackle system. The sail can be a self-inflatable sail (1 SN) designed similarly to paragliders, partially or fully inflatable.
