SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING A MOORING LINE TO A BODY
20210188402 · 2021-06-24 · ·

The disclosed invention relates to a connecting system for connecting a mooring line to a body comprising a first part being attached to the mooring line and connected with a pin having two ends, to a second part being attached to the body and having an arrangement for guiding the pin into a hang-off structure in the second part where the hang-off structure substantially comprises at least one hook. The system is characterized by a connecting structure for a temporary pulling means mounted on the first part in transverse direction to its longitudinal axis and eccentrically to an axial center of gravity of the first part. The invention relates also to a method regarding the application of the system.

DUAL AXES CONNECTION DEVICE
20210188401 · 2021-06-24 ·

A dual axes connection device for use with a mooring line, a line guide and pulling means for connecting a floating body and a fixed body is provided. The connecting device comprises a dual axes hinge unit, with orthogonal rotational axes x and y, comprising means for fastening the unit to the floating or fixed body, a connecting link fastened to the hinge unit comprising two parallel arms, a funnel connected to the two parallel arms enveloping the mooring line, and locking means for locking the mooring line to the funnel. The mooring line, the line guide and connection device are positioned in one plane.

MOORING LINE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY AND TENSIONER

A mooring line connector assembly (1) and a corresponding tensioner (28) are described. The mooring line connector assembly (1) comprises complementary male (2) and female (3) connectors, wherein the male connector (2) is rigid and the female connector (3) is connectable to the male connector (2) at a plurality of points along its length, so as to vary the tension applied to the mooring line. Locking balls engageable with grooves disposed along the length of the male connector (2) can allow the female connector to connect at different points along the male connector. A tensioner (28) allows the tension to be adjusted. The tensioner includes a first part (29) arranged to engage with the male connector (2) and a second part (29) arranged to engage with the female connector (3). The first part (29) reciprocates relative to the second part so as to move the male connector (2) relative to the female connector and thereby change the point at which the female connector is connected to the male connector.

Rotary chain jack that maintains tension in a mooring line/chain

A rotary chain jack may include a frame, a dual chain wheel rotatably coupled to the frame, and a stopper assembly mechanically coupled to the frame. The stopper assembly may include latches. The stopper assembly may be positioned to selectively engage a chain passing over the dual chain wheel. The rotary chain jack may be used to moor offshore structures.

Tensioner of a mooring line of a floating structure
11008072 · 2021-05-18 · ·

A tensioning system of a mooring line of a floating structure. The mooring line includes separate first and second mooring line sections, with a first end of the second mooring line attached to the floating structure and a first end of the first mooring line section being attached to an anchoring device embedded in a seabed. A tensioner configured to act on the mooring line includes a body with a housing, and an inlet unit for inserting a second end of the first mooring line section into the housing of the body. The body includes an opening for the passage of a second end of the first mooring line section from the inlet unit, through the housing, and along a direction changing element. The tensioning system includes a stabilizing platform fixed to the body. At least a portion of the stabilizing platform laterally projects from the body of the tensioner.

Apparatus and method for cutting a line extending from a floating vessel

An apparatus is for cutting a line extending from a floating vessel having a deck. The apparatus includes: two guide pins configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein a distance between the guide pins, in an extended position, is spanned by a spacer, the spacer forming a reaction surface; a cutting device mounted between the two guide pins, the cutting device being configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position; wherein the cutting device is arranged to perform a direct cut of the line against the reaction surface without holding the line prior to cutting such that the line may be cut directly independently of the orientation of the line.

Off Vessel Tensioning System and Method
