Submersible buoy device and control method thereof

Disclosed is a submersible buoy device and a control method thereof. The submersible buoy device includes an encapsulated housing, a watertight penetration socket, an underwater acoustic communication body, a data acquisition body, a control body and a mounting bracket. By integrally integrating the watertight penetration socket, the underwater acoustic communication body, the data acquisition body and the control body on the encapsulated housing, different types of multi-sensor data in the submersible buoy device can be automatically collected and processed. Adaptive scheduling and linkage control are carried out by the control body to the unity of each functional module, thereby achieving one-stop automatic operation of all measurement data to acoustic transmission communication. The present invention achieves the integration, automation and intelligent application of a plurality of functional modules, and alleviates the technical problems of high installation cost, low reliability and complex installation in the prior art.

Modular sensing device, system, and method

A technique provides a modular sensing device having multiple separable modules attached end to end. The modules are selectable based on mission requirements, with different modules and combinations thereof selected for different mission types and/or requirements.

A RECONNAISSANCE AND COMMUNICATION ASSEMBLY

According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a reconnaissance and communication assembly, adapted to be launched from a gun barrel into the air over a body of water. The assembly comprises a carrier (with a cavity) and a payload (within the cavity). The payload is arranged to be controllably expelled from the carrier and once expelled from the carrier, the payload is adapted to enter the water; and the payload transmits a signal after entering the water.

Sensor Suspension System and Associated Deployment Systems for Underwater Deployment of Sensor Array
20220284876 · 2022-09-08 ·

A sensor suspension system for use in an underwater environment comprises a sensor (e.g., vector sensor) and a framework comprising a plurality of support structures, and a plurality of compliant devices that suspend the sensor within an inner volume of the framework. The plurality of compliant devices facilitate a symmetrical sensing response of the sensor in three degrees of freedom when deployed in the underwater environment. The framework is moveable from a collapsed position to an expanded position. A plurality of sensor suspension systems can be tethered together into a sensor array by a deployment control system operable to release a buoyant device, tethered to the sensor suspension systems, that vertically positions the plurality of sensor suspension systems into the sensor array. The buoyant device can cause each framework to expand via pulling force through the tethers upon release of the buoyant device.

Underwater data capture and transmission system having a variable buoy

An underwater data capture and transmission system has a base configured to sink in water, at least one sensor configured to capture data while submerged in water, a processing unit configured to receive data collected by the sensor, and a variable buoy. The variable buoy has a ballast system configured to adjust a depth of the variable buoy in the water, and a communication device configured to transmit data to a remote communications device. The system further has at least one tether connecting at least the base, the processing unit, and the variable buoy.

Bathythermograph buoy and associated method of operation

A bathythermograph buoy and an associated method of operation are provided to measure temperature and/or optionally other parameter(s) within an ocean or another body of water. A bathythermograph buoy includes a housing and one or more sensors carried by the housing and configured to repeatedly measure one or more respective parameters as the bathythermograph buoy descends. The bathythermograph buoy of one example also includes a memory carried by the housing and configured to store representations of the one or more respective parameters measured by the one or more sensors. The bathythermograph buoy further includes a buoyancy modification device configured to increase buoyancy of the bathythermograph buoy to permit the bathythermograph buoy to ascend.
